One of the best RTS of its' gen. It is fast-placed, tactics oriented. If you like micro-management games like Starcraft, this may not be your cup of tea. If you prefer to focus more on your units and battlefield, than worrying about resources, bases building and who will press the X button faster to create workers/ buildings in time: Get this now.

Single-Player: Great campaign, with good story even for non-Warhammer 40K fans. Nothing to do with the original Dawn of War, so it is easy to get into.

Multiplayer: You get three modes. Co-op campaign, co-op PvE and competitive (PvP).
The first is self-explanotary; you can play the campaign with a friend.
Co-op PvE: My favourite mode, it is called "Last Stand". You basically pick a hero and fight waves of enemies, alongside with other people. It is your "arena" mode; something that we used to see in mods and maps in older RTS games -call me Starcraft, Warcraft II & III, LotR: BFME, etc etc. You have a choice of 4 unique heroes (more if you have the expansions), which you can level-up and get gear for individually. This mode is a bit like a "free" extra game that comes with DoWII. My only complain nowadays is the lack of online players.
Competitive MP: Includes FFA and team-matches.

The biggest cons: Not enough people online and that it still uses Game for Windows as a DRM. Due to the later, I lost my saves twice in the past...
