First and foremost, yes, this is a must buy and play game if you're a Bethesda fan. I had extremely high expectations but most of them were met. The main story and quests are great, the shipbuilding is FANTASTIC, and many other things.

Honestly, after Fallout 76, even I was upset and thought that Bethesda wouldn't be able to deliver, but they DID, they really DID. This is for me, better than Oblivion, but lower than Skyrim (but honestly tbh Skyrim has no faults for me). BUT, and it's a big BUT (that sounded wrong xD), this is the most comprehensive and well thought out Bethesda game, being a culmination of all of their efforts since the Morrowind days.

The soundtracks, are great, the worldbuilding is amazing but that's a given tbh, since it's Bethesda after all, and they have never have put anything bad out there on those fronts.

What else?

PLAY THIS GAME!

Ok so I have a RTX 3060, Ryzen 7 5800H, 2TB SSD and 16 Gigs of RAM. It stutters like crazy. I tried reducing grass and volumetric fog settings, didn't help.

Idk this will be a negative review until they fix their game.

This MC is the very definition of "based", I'm sure somebody has already used this word here.

I liked all the routes, especially Saku's, I just didn't like the "True" route's ending, but overall a solid 8/10 from me.

Well let's start with a few basic questions.

Is this game a good RPG? No, even Witcher 3 wasn't a good RPG.
Go play any Obsidian games like "The Outer Worlds" if you are looking for something in a similar vein.
There are many problems, where do I even start. There are 3 major endings with some minor variations in how you approach them to create around 6 paths for the endings, but everything leading upto them are determined only by some of the major side quest chains. There's no permutations of different minor choices or anything of the like affecting the narrative in any shape or form except some instances.
Even factions like Arasaka, the gangs, other corporations could have made for excellent faction quests changing the story but nope, they aren't here. Cyberware also feels underutilized, and offers only some variations to gameplay.

Is this a good action-adventure game? Not exactly, comparing NPC interactions, physics and various other aspects of this game if compared to a Rockstar game falls short.

I don't want to drag on this review since I am pretty lazy and don't want to write much, but if you are expecting a great narrative, characters, soundtrack, open world design, they are all here. It's a great game but surrounded by controversy and stupid decisions from the upper management at CDPR (false marketing).

8/10, could increase this score later (depends on the expansions)

Edit: I am currently playing patch 1.5, good job CDPR. There have been much needed changes, I just need the expansion now tho :(

Edit 2: After Phantom Liberty and patch 2.1, this game is a solid 9/10. It still has a lot of flaws, but still, the game has come a long way since its release, good on you CDPR!

Persona 3 & 5 when

For the love of Aidios, don't start with CS3! Atleast go through the previous Cold Steel ( Sen no Kiseki ) games before playing through this one.
I would highly recommend you to go play the Sky trilogy too, but I know that, that would be a hassle for new players getting introduced to the series. However, if you truly want to squeeze out all the emotions from this story, implore you to play from the Sky trilogy. You won't regret it.

Now for the review:
What's there to say? Any veteran trails series player would buy this game on an instant. Most of the story threads introduced in CS1 & 2 have been resolved here including character backstories but some of them...well, just play the game.
The characters are great, especially I find the new class VII to have better character growth and complexity than the old class VII in just one game. Really love Juna's character dynamic. Love the new class VII!
All in all, the best CS game till now!
