To sum up this game is easy, looks beautiful and plays fine AS LONG AS ITS INSTALLED ON AN M.2 X4 DRIVE! from what i can tell if you install it on a slow drive you will get stutters, i'm running a 4060ti with a i5 13600k and 32gb ram, medium to high settings in 2k with around 60-70 fps. This is as long as you don't have a base rendered nearby! since building up the base i now get around 30 fps, playable but not the best!

Then the problems start, the bugs...here i will list some new ones!

Baby dinos like to float....as in they will float up and up till you cant see them anymore!

You can get an odd bug that acts like you have pressed the "K" key, you cannot interact with anything and there is only two ways to fix that i have found, someone picks you up with an argy or you re-spawn....not ideal!

Dinos fall through foundations....ceilings as well! this was present in ASE but is exacerbated in ASA badly!

Shooting bug still present! reloading can be a pain

As for the servers? they are STILL a joke, hand feeding that baby giga? good luck! doe only takes 8 hours to hit juvi, not on official! sometimes it can take double this, This applies to taming also! something that would take say an hour, can take up to 3 hours to tame due to the severe LAG that has plagued official badly!

Trying to run in a straight line becomes a chore, open and exit a door is a nightmare, pinging back and forth can become so annoying you will wish you wasn't playing.

As for the general feel for the servers.....there is as per the toxic players but the player base on PVE is okay bar the few that try to ruin it for everyone else.

Don't even get me started on random meshing...its here and it can kill you and your dino! I've lost a few dinos and even tribe members to it.

Wildcard certainly didn't tell the full truth as this is clearly a copy and paste of ASE but now with more bugs, this is disappointing...will i stop playing? No, i do like ARK i just hate the issues it has and i'm sure i speak for the majority of players.

Right now it is so hard to play, i prefer official because of the community, but honestly i have had nights where i have just had to stop playing as it becomes unbearable at times, especially the weekends!

Should you buy it though? i would still say to hold off for now, the servers are more stable and don't crash much compared to what they did but...

They LAG hard, be prepared for that, raising dinos and taming takes double if not triple as long. And of course YOUR EGGS CAN BE STOLEN NOW WITH AN OVIRAPTOR! oh yay!

OH important! if you have a 40 series GPU DO NOT enable frame gen, it will crash your game.

Only played a few mins, seems like it would be helpful, but i'm a wrist playing not elbow so performance for me is a little....well i would loose against a elbow player right? But it is stuck with me and this little free gem is helping to get my wrist reaction times quicker and 1234 clap your hands. That is all.

As someone that has played this game for a long time i feel i can give a fairly good review of it, So for a start i mainly played on the HWS server, this is in a matter of gameplay a must if you really want to get a good feel of the game and a fairly fleshed out story/mission gameplay, plus the guys that run it are high on the heels of updates etc and always keep it running fairly smoothly, along with that you get a whole extra load of stuff via the website.

Enough of that though as thats just one server, the offical servers are something i barely touch, the reason behind it is because although the game is well fleshed out etc it does still suffer with alot of bugs that can be game breaking at times, these arnt limited to just official though! but again like i said HWS is on the tail of bugs and generally will address them pretty quick.

So onto game play, No matter what if you want a good survival game that is based in space and on planet then this game is a no brainer, the survival side of things can really kill you pretty quickly, from animals to npcs to the planets you land on, You will be on your toes nearly at all times untill you have a nice little base to call home, but even then nightmares can strike XD but they generally dont harash you constantly which is nice.

Then you have creative mode, the best way i can describe this is minecraft with space, that is literally it, of course you do get alot more curves, but most of it is going to start out as a cube, this can be an issue as its part of the gameplay but when you want to say have to halfs of a wall on the same cube, unless its a preset you cannot have it, but again there is so many different types of shapes you can forgive them for that.

ive not touched the story mode as i wasnt interested but it has one...or sort of from what i did see.

So TLDR? great survival game that is a must for any space enthusiasts.

So I'm 19 hours in.....lost count of how many steps i've walked but can easily say i've not even touched the surface in regards to the main story, so i'd say that's a good thing and the story is so captivating even on side quests...only 5 years late to the party but you know how it is sometimes :D

EDIT! - After the ARK Road map release i cannot recommend this game, why? Well lets break that down simply.

They intend on closing the servers down so the only way to play is dedicated, fine if you play dedicated but all future updates etc wont happen, want your rifle to work? its been what, 8 years? and it still hasn't been fixed.

I love Ark and that shows with the countless hours i have put into it but after this road map.....i will continue to play for now but expect to destroy everything i worked hard for when it comes close to the end,

To be honest i would be fine with a fresh start, that is probably the best time in Ark, i always enjoy when they drop a new map but the sour taste that has been left in my mouth has ruined it - i am referring to the price you will have to pay to continue on official if, like me that is what you intended on doing.

Not only will you be charged for the base game, but all DLC is separate!? Who thought this was a good idea? WHO?! snail games is who.

So in short, don't buy this game now wait and buy it when the new update version drops.....im divided and will decide at the time if i value ark enough to buy it....AGAIN.

The price should reflect the work gone into the game and considering that the majority of it has already been done for them and they will just have to import it just does not warrant the price, take The Witcher 3 upgrade, you got the entire game....for free if you already owned it....and many other developers have done this! But wildcard....has not. Even after they said it would be a FREE UPGRADE

Hm where to start? want to throw your life away? want to make sure your the best kitted out guardian there ever was? Destiny 2 is where it is at then my friend! In all seriousness though it is a good game, there is a grind but for me thats something i find fun and have done way back since the beta. The game took a down turn but it is now looking back up and what with all the secrets and quests that keep slowly being added to the game, its great! and there is nothing like randomly finding some of dudes, or dudettes to randomly dance with on the moon whilst waiting for an event to start!

So you like to survive huh? Think you have what it takes? Think again...your either a dead man walking....or your mates are going to murder you, that or your going to die from eating your buddy (as i found out) Is the game worth it? yes i suppose so but it still has its bugs, but hey they will be sorted i guess.....driving in the game is terrible mind but then so is running everywhere!
