Early Access Review
Played during the playtests and what I saw so far has been very promising, sea combat is fun and exploring the map is also great fun. There are secrets hidden all over the place, i don't think i've seen a map area that doesn't have a secret somewhere in it.

Would also like to meantion that the playtesters could reach a maximum of level 5 and had access to only the starting island, so earning potential was limited. You can gain currency much faster outside of that island.

wanted to let people know that a player has given a large sum of money to the developer to have him "make a new set of rooms"... and the dev is going whole hog and rebalancing the game whilst he's at it. Keep an eye out for v1.1 coming soon!(this weekend maybe?).

aside from that, the game itself is great, has a good balance of suspense and action. Enemy spawns are directly related to you picking up items and opening doors. With different items giving more 'currency' to the enemy spawner. This also leads to making the tough decision as to when to stop taking it slow and rush to a goal before you have a chance to see the results of your actions descend upon you.

I kept meaning to leave a review for this months ago.

Amazing game. Tight controls, smooth platforming. Levels with moving platforms nearly always have tricks that let you skip part of them. The developer had always been responsive on the community forums and any time i'd noticed an issue or given feedback i'd notice it being changed/fixed by the next patch.

Levels are themed around a particular mechanic which is often only seen in that level up until the final world. Giving a huge variety where no one mechanic ever outstays its welcome.

Secret collectibles are hidden throughout and i had a lot of fun tracking them down. These usually are gold tokens which you can tell approximately where in the level these are from which one is missing. if token 2 and 3 are found, then there is no need to search past where you found the second whilst searching for the first.

In its current state the game lends itself greatly towards all playstyles, casual, completionist and speedrunning, for a speed completion you need to grab a certain number of silver tokens in order to access the final encounter, I believe the requirement was something like 400? Of which there are 20 in each level. The gold tokens unlock side-levels or allow you to take a different path, playing alternate/additional levels that might let you skip levels on the default path.

I'd really love if the game could get more recognition from speedrunners or people in general as the game is an exceptional platformer!

The less you know about this game before you play it the better, go and have fun and look at info after at least one playthrough.

Good little game. I'd expect it to last you about 2 hours. The platforming feels great, your attacks and the enemy attacks seem fair, story is a bit sparse but not really what i came here for.

One issue is that it isn't easy to return to the menu, this is important for at least one achievement. You have the option to quit to desktop and re-launch the game or to die and return to title screen from there.
The other issue i saw is that bombs are extremely inconsistant, usually they will instantly kill you, other times they will just cause a little damage. This is extremely frustrating with the way bomb throwers are positioned.

All in all, its cheap and fun. Also try "out there somewhere".

its one of these games where you are expected to lose more than you win, but its amazing, you have a group of agents, starting with 2, potentially getting up to 4, who whilst fragile, are meant to have the upper hand. going around randomized levels acquiring technology and currency to get prepared for various set-piece scenarios.

The number of times i barely escaped with everyone alive due to some clever passing of a combination of items onto one character to save another.

Once in the space of a few turns, a robot was hacked, used to destroy another identical robot, its power stolen, getting trapped by two guards, then speedboosting a guy with a stun gun to run through half the map, take out one of the guards with the trapped guy shooting the second, then running to the exit whilst the first robot starts to wake up.

Basically, good stuff.

Just finished with this game yesterday, took a little longer than expected since i never thought to use the "locate collectibles" song whilst on the map screen (despite there being a bird singing the tune on that screen throughout the game).

I figured i'd address certain issues people have brought up.

First off, difficulty:
The puzzles that lead to the credits aren't too tough, its the ones that take you off the main path that can be difficult. These are hidden by using the available animals in different ways than the main puzzles, or adding extra steps to the solutions to go further than the normal exit. Easier examples include having a bird grab you from a different location than its starting location so that it takes a different path to its drop off point.

Harder ones usually involve safely escorting creatures outside of their normal wandering zones so you can use them to move to unexpected locations.

Secondly, getting around:
Almost every 'screen' in the game has an object that you can use a song to teleport to them from any checkpoint in the game. You can rewind to a previous checkpoint using a song that is taught at a couple of early-game dead-end locations. This means you can always return to a checkpoint to use the teleport song but undoes everything done after touching the checkpoint, this includes collecting collectibles or any animal movement.

The majority of areas have also have small mole tunnels that open up once you've visited both sides of them to help you get around easier, these are typically located in zones that have complicated or lengthy puzzles to travel through them.

... I thought i would have a "thirdly" here but there isn't much more to address. Go figure, its beautiful, buy it, have fun, heres a few more screenshots http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/rawrsume/screenshots/?appid=201420&sort=newestfirst&view=imagewall
