Just an absolute masterclass of story telling from beginning to end, Beautiful set pieces and well paced scenes of action mixed with emotional moments that kept me on the edge of my seat through out my play through. Very rarely have i felt invested in every character within a game and cared enough about them to mourn their passing.
I must have missed the reason people hated Abbey so much at the games original release, she has her own motivations and agenda that can be justified or not dependant on your perspective and the same could be said of Ellie.
Looking forward to playing it all again!

Speaking as someone who has played Until Dawn several times on the PS4 I was hesitant to try this new version and in fact waited many months for a decent sale as people seemed very unhappy with the many changes. With that being said I wish i had purchased this version at release. Graphics are frankly beautiful, optimisation is amazing and I was able to play between my desktop and Steamdeck LCD with zero issues. Maybe its my imagination but the pacing is a lot better with less downtime between scares but I will say this version seemed a lot easier to succeed especially with QTE interactions which i was not a fan of but maybe more fun for a first time player as once a character is lost there is no coming back.
Dialogue also seemed to be improved from the original with some extra scenes and background information as to why some story points took place and the fact they added a new alternative ending was a nice surprise.
Yes weve lost the iconic soundtrack but if you never played the original this is a mute point and the replacement music is fine. I never linked my PSN account to play the game which ive seen is still a complaint why people won't purchase the game but you can literally just ignore it once and the game never asks again.
I can seen myself returning to this version again and again just like the PS4 especially as i can play on the go.
A truly great game that has aged perfectly with well written likeable characters who make it all the more painful to lose when they get decapitated because you scratched your nose that one second you should have had your finger on a button.

After taking forever to get around to playing Miles Morales I decided i needed to complete the game in time for Spiderman 2 and I honestly don't know why it took me so long. When i think AAA game this is what I expect. Graphics are frankly breathtaking at times and the story is really well written with memorable characters, Miles in particular is really endearing and i found myself engaged in the problems he was facing which was a big departure from the usual good vs evil, he deals with everything from family and friend issues to my personal fave saving a kidnapped cat also called Spider man.
Game play is very smooth with id say an even deeper battle system than the Arkham games which its comparable to, so much so that id forget some of the combos then suddenly be surprised when i randomly pulled one off. The swinging mechanic is well done and very relaxing, im sure there are lots of people that could spend hour upon hour just traversing the city fighting random crimes, its that good.
Finally optimisation is also amazing, I can't speak for how it was at release but i played 50/50 across my desktop and steam deck and performance was seamless on both which is no small feat for a game populated with hundreds of npcs across the city and very fast paced battles.
Bring on Spider man 2, I hope its just as good on pc.

The fact this game was made by just two developers is insane to me and makes you wonder what all these triple A studios have been doing. A fantastic story which you should ideally go into blind, some very well written dialogue and and a narrative that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. There is a decent amount of horror here but also some fun exploration sections and low key some of the best arcade mini games i have played in a while.
Cappy is one of the most endearing characters ive come across in a while along with a few others which I won't mention due to spoilers. But prepare to get very attached throughout your play through.
Ive read in the forums its not possible to bring MiSide to VR but i really think this would elevate the game to the next level but with two devs at the helm im happy with a flat version that is so well polished and optimised.
Pick this up if you want a unique experience that has plenty of replay ability or if you just want a waifu to step on you.

Im not one to post early reviews but if your curious how the game is before purchasing. Performance has been fine the first hour with high settings, graphics look crisp and movement feels good. The story and characters are interesting so far and im intrigued to play more. Maybe later into the game ill see where all the negative youtube reviews have come from, but at the moment this is worth your time and could build to being something great.

The powers out, the waters out and the local council are all bastards. A tenner for a single fare tube ride where the train isnt even running. This developer truly understands what UK horror is really all about.

As any true horror fan will tell you, its not what you see but want you thought you saw that can scare you the most. Pools does a fantastic job of having you constantly looking for that shadowy figure you thought you saw in the corner of your eye or listening for those wet footsteps you swear you heard running up behind you.
The store page cleverly states there is no monster here to fear and with that it invokes a false sense of security, yes nothing is around a corner to jump scare you but you will feel unease through out the whole game and even fear.
Graphically and audibly the game is beautiful with so many minute details giving the game an almost photo realistic look and feel but the true beauty here is the atmosphere, hallways feel dark and uninviting, stairwells and even slides give off a menacing presence and the lack or introduction of sound is just perfectly balanced.
I had originally purchased POOLS with the intention of streaming the game on my twitch channel after streaming the demo a week ago, but after the demo i found myself still thinking about what i had experienced so decided to play alone in the dark with headphones set to max on a curved screen for true immersion and this was the correct decision. Do not watch people play POOLS, enjoy it for yourself and you will be hard pressed to find another horror experience like it.
I hope the developer will expand on the game or take it to VR as i would love to play more especially if there is more game play like the final two chapters.
