I sure hope you're not buying this game for the new multiplayer patch - first of all the game is still completely dead, and second every single server is full of hackers with invincibility.

The single-player is maybe worth it for the nostalgia? You might as well just play it on literally any other platform because the widescreen "fix" makes this game look like diarrhea at anything above 1024x768

e: I just want to make clear that I absolutely applaud the developer for releasing this patch. It takes some serious goodwill and dedication to get the multiplayer back up and running. But we're bailing water out of a boat with two hundred holes in it. There's no way there will ever be an effective anti-cheat in a game this old at this point. It is what it is.

if it's good enough for jon bois and the fumble dimension, you know it's gonna be good.

it's like baseball cards but if you could actually play games and win a World Series with them instead of just having them collect dust in a box somewhere

it's quite good...the combat is enjoyable and the journey from 0 to level 60 is a really good one. the game doesn't get really grindy until the endgame stuff, but that's to be expected in an MMORPG. new modules come out frequently enough that the game content doesn't get stale and there's always new events popping up all around.

overall it's bretty good and I've leveled two characters to max. i can't really get into most MMOs but Neverwinter is an exception to that rule

the controls are a little wonky but overall it's pretty good, easy to play with friends, not sure about the online matchmaking but private games with friends over the internet is a lot of fun. income tax every day

It's a bit like Call of Duty....if the developers somehow spent even LESS time balancing their weapons and playtesting their game than normal.

Everything that isn't a bolt action rifle is 100% useless and there is no overtime mechanic, meaning that deadlocked games literally continue infinitely until everyone leaves and bots take over. Truly incredible. After several games of glitches and poor map design, I threw in the towel. Quickest refund of the Steam Summer Sale so far for me, and that's saying something.

If they hired somebody who could actually make maps, this might be half decent. Right now, practically none of the maps have any portal surfaces so you end up just running around. Atlantis especially might be one of the worst FPS maps I have ever played in my life. Who is coming up with these design choices??
