This game is what happens when the Tofu Survivor mode from Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions have an unprotected one-night stand.

But seriously, this is a great pastime game. You are a cube who takes on levels that are much like the VR missions in MGS: VR, only instead of sneaking around to get to the goal you have to go through many series of obstacles intricately put together by the level designers. The faster you go and the more optional stuff you collect along the way, the better you're ranked (I think).

The levels are designed in a progressively difficult pace, training the player to increasingly "get good". And creative obstacle placement, along with the eventual introduction of new types of obstacles and new elements of gameplay, ensures that EDGE remains fresh throughout.

Survived siege in Toulouse outnumbered two-to-one by deploying my longbowmen's stakes inside the castle's gate and letting enemy cavalry run into them, all while raining fiery death upon anyone else bold enough to dare get close to my walls.

Would lead a Holy Crusade against the French again, and then defend the conquered city from their Milanese allies yet once more, all while being allies with the Moors.

By the way, you can hurl rotting cattle carcasses at your enemies.
