Having played open world shooters like Far Cry and Fallout I expected as much from this game: a big yet, in my humble opinion, empty open world with sprinklings of side missions and collectibles, basic shooty mechanics and a barebones storyline. Admittedly, I didn't buy into the hype as much as a lot of people did so I wasn't as disappointed. So how is it?

At its core its a good game with an enjoyable story, likeable characters and a beautifully detailed world. There's tons of very interesting sidequests and the whole setting is amazing. Not to mention the banging soundtrack fitting of a dystopian future. But all that is bogged down by a myriad of issues this game has. Half-baked mechanics, like the notoriety system. Ridiculous spawning and despawning of NPCs and cars right in front of you. The UI. There's also the list of cut content that didn't make it into the game. Its almost like this game could use another delay or two. Hell, I agree with the sentiment it could use another year or two in the oven.

The more I play it the more I thought how CDPR could have done more. But, alas, they gotta rake in the sweet profits just in time for the holidays and push it out the door. Worse still, they tried to hide all of this by not giving out console codes for reviews and denying reviewers from using recorded footage. They knew the state of the game beforehand. And they still released it anyway.

CD Projekt Red. Man, I thought you guys were the last of the 'good' companies. That you weren't the type to pull something like this off. Colour me surprised, then. I'm not even mad. Just disappointed.

Don't get the game. Not right now. I still have hope that this game will be patched up and fixed further down the road. Maybe CDPR will take Hello Games' path of redemption. Who knows. All I know is that this game can be so much more.

My gameplay went something like this...

Started off the game as a slave to a faction of misogynistic, bible-thumping xenophobes.

Spent most of the time either knocked out cold or in a jail cell because I attempted escape every chance I got.

Got lucky on my 500th try when the idiots in charge of bringing me back forgot to retrieve me after beating me senseless.

Sweet freedom!

...except I had a ruptured stomach and my leg was rotting away.

Spent the next 20 minutes wandering aimlessly whilst avoiding my captors. And giant robo-spiders. And cannibals. And giant death rays. And acid rain. And androids.

Finally stumbled upon a small town run by wannabe ninjas.

Town was immediately attacked by bandits with batons going up against heavily armed shinobis with harpoon turrets lining the walls. Things didn't end up well for them.

Spent the next few days picking their bodies clean and selling them to the local barkeeper who was more than happy to accept scraps from the still warm bodies at his doorstep.

And I'm only just getting started. I haven't started farming or building a city. I haven't even recruited my first follower. There's still so much to discover. Now this may sound fun and all, but here's a bit of warning: this game feels very dated. Somehow it plays a bit like Runescape mixed with early 2000's RPG. Most of the actions you make are through mouse clicks, and the game does get a bit grindy whilst levelling up skills. Pair that with the whole drag-and-drop and grid-based inventory system as well as the text-based dialogue system and you can see how it might not be for everyone.

If you can look past that, you'll find a very unique game that doesn't hold your hand and lets you do almost anything within the confines of its game mechanics. Just have the patience and take things slow. And learn to take a beating. Or 500.

This one is a short and bittersweet story about the main character and her roommate. It plays out like a regular visual novel with point-and-click bits to advance the story with. The story has a couple or so endings that you can achieve all relatively quickly. Its a very short journey, but its an enjoyable one. The art style is appealing and the interactions between the various characters are enjoyable. Give it a whirl. Its free. The feels that come with this are free too.

Still the same old game from late 2000's, with the same graphics and all the janky bits. And its still the same P2W jankfest. There's absolutely no reason to play this other than for the nostalgia or you have an absolute toaster of a machine. Scratch that, there's tons of other games you can play with a toaster. Avoid this at all cost.

I'm honestly impressed with this game. At its core its a silly clicker game where you hypnotise girls and make them show their boobs and stuff and that's basically it. But the thing is, the developers periodically update the game to this day, with new girls to seduce and new places to conquer. Many AAA companies don't have that kind of commitment, so kudos to them. Give it a shot. It's free.

P.S. Get an autoclicker for maximum immersion.

P.S.5 Its 2023 and a new update just recently dropped. This game is supported longer than some Triple-A titles are these days lmao

There's almost no gameplay here. You click on a bunch of falling stars and finish the mission. Rinse and repeat 10 or so times and hey presto, you finished the damn game. Then you jump on over to the (free, mind you) DLC and you're presented with each of the girls nude, requiring you to click on their various erogenous zones and make them climax. That's it. For a buck or so you're getting JPEGs of them in their bikinis and a GIF of them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Not recommended. Go to danbooru or something, you degenerate. It's free.

Don't. F*ck, the whole point of the game is to shoot a dancing girl with a water gun and get her wet all over. Do this 7 times and you've won the game. You can do this in under 10 minutes. That's it. That's the entire game. The game has a DLC, though, and while it does allow you to get some hands on time with one of the girl, its super rape-y. Skip this and go search up hentai instead, you perv.

A dollar. That's all this game costs. For that you get what is basically a point and click shooter. You're rooted to the spot and shoot enemies to kill them. These consists of normal enemies, armoured and heavies, taking 1, 2 and up to 20+ shots to kill. You have 4 weapons, a pistol, shotgun, grenade launcher and an assault rifle. The launcher takes out all mobs with a single shot. The game has a very distinct loop: go through 4 or 5 sections with regular mobs and then fight a boss. These are easy as they telegraph their attacks. Do this enough times and you'll reach the endgame boss which is honestly an utter joke. The thing still telegraphs its attacks but the gimmick here is you need to activate 3 switches to fire a laser to attack it. All whilst dodging its attacks. This can take less than 5 minutes. And then thats it. You've beaten the game. The first playthrough took me 20+ minutes and can unlock one of three endings, though i think the third one unlocks on the third playthrough regardless of choices made. Going through all the endings and unlocking all but two achievements (the ones involving destroying the crates and barrels) took a little over an hour.

But come on. You didn't pay a buck for all that. You paid it for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ porn, didn't you? Well then safe to say for a dollar its pretty good. Its animated and drawn nicely, though with no audio. Its no Sakimichichan or Shadman but its good enough. You unlock these as you go through the story and some are locked behind certain choices in the various crossroads you reach during the storyline. Honestly most of these don't make any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense like one happening right after an encounter with the boss, and the character saying they need to destress or some crap. But hey, you do you, lady. And you get like 18 different scenes so its pretty nice. Theres tentacles, some girl on girl, some more tentacles... There's something for everyone. Especially the 5 people out there who are into tentacles.

Recommended. Just don't expect too much from it.

Discount Far Cry with less open world and more claustrophobic locales.

Gameplay is your standard shooty affair with a bit of outpost liberation thrown in. The game is broken up into several large maps that you can travel back and forth with loading screens in between. In each area you basically run around finishing objectives which is usually 'liberate x outpost' or 'kill enemies at x'. There's little variation and by the end of it it all seems like a chore, to be honest. The outposts are decent, with a fair number of ways you can break into one. That being said, you can easily clear out one by going loud and the enemies basically won't send reinforcements save for a couple of strays. The meh A.I. doesn't help either, i.e. they're dumb as sh*t. You can camp inside a second floor room and snipe them to your heart's content and never raise any alarms. The times you do raise an alarm you can quickly dispose off the enemies around you and sprint off to hide somewhere.

Story. What story? The super generic 'underdog team overcomes their foe through some bullsh*t plot devices and manages to come on top'? The forgettable characters (save for Dana, who is a total b*tch which the game tries to justify by her backstory which does not help)?

Gotta give credit to the game's weapon system, though. You can modify weapons on the fly by hitting 'X'. This allows you to slap on different receivers and attachments to your weapons. You can put on an SMG upper to your pistol and give it full auto capabilities. You can fix a 4x ACOG to your sniper rifle and give it more reach. You can swap out your assault rifle upper which a mine launcher to blast vehicles. This is a nice system as it gives you the option to swap out components as the situation arises. Same can be said for throwables as you can change your standard pipe bomb into, say, an explosive RC car or a booby trap.

I won't recommend this one unless its on sale. Like, dirt cheap. Its very bland and average and only good for a single playthrough. Oh, there's supposedly a multiplayer mode (why wouldn't there be?) but the playerbase is non-existent last I checked.

A hack-and-slash game where instead of controlling a big tiddy anime girl as a playable character, you control a big chested mech. With big tiddy anime girls as supporting characters. Best part of this game is the customisation which allows you to mix, match and colour mech parts to build your perfect machine. Weapons have the same mix and match system too, albeit with receivers and barrels for guns and blades and handles for melee weapons. A fairly comprehensive upgrade tree also helps to give you a bit of control over your combat style. The game is in early access so most of the game is still in development and at the current price it may be hard to justify a dozen or so levels unless you want to support the devs.

Get it if you like fending off hordes of monsters with badass mechs.
