Until they remove Denuvo and or their second proprietary kernel level "anti cheat" (yes they have TWO running) most people, including myself will continue to be unable to play the game. I have several hundred hours in the game, and after they added the second "anti cheat" with the Akuma update can no longer get above 30fps on minimum settings(I have a 4080 super and an I9 14900k) and have started randomly crashing, when before was getting 120 fps on max settings.

Running two kernel level DRM is literally killing the game.

Not sure why this game is getting review bombed. The gameplay is great, the community is great so far, the base building is seamless, some of the animations can be a bit jank, but that's not enough to say it's a bad game.
No framedrops, no crashes, no waiting for servers. Game has been great so far.

Passion Project from a solo dev, is a really fun (although sometime janky) game. It works well and is better than a lot of triple A titles. There's a ton of content, and bosses, and a really well crafted energy/level system.

I hope this developer keeps cooking because this game has the potential to be great.
Keep up the great work!

One of, if not the best souls-like I've played...and I've played a lot of them.

The animations are amazing, the art style is ungodly, the the story is good.

The boss AI is fair but punishing, and they have personality in the way they fight.

Combos and skills for every weapon, great RPG mechanics.

No Performance issues so far, on max settings across the board (Frame Gen off as well, which is nice it's not required to maintain a 120 fps like some other titles released recently)

Only issue is some of the voice direction has been mediocre (not bad, just middle of the road)

9.5/10 game.

I haven't left a review before, but here we go.

Been waiting for this game since it's original Kickstarter announcement forever ago, and feel like it's been worth the wait.

The game feels very much in touch with that old school roots it was going for; and feels like a mix between a Megaman game, and Castlelvania, made all the better with the abilities of modern programming.

The controls are buttery smooth, and pacing feels very on point.
At the beginning of the game swapping weapons and abilities felt a little tedious, but this slowly alleviated once the "Shortcut" ability a few bosses in, which allows you to swap between your own custom presets on the fly; which is when the game really opens up in terms of gameplay.

Every monster and enemy in the game has a unique spell that it can drop; and each one of those can be enhanced, and powered up in several ways to really give a unique gameplay experience to everyone who plays.

Couple that with all the different weapon types, that have hidden abilities behind "Street Fighter"-esk button combos for even more diverse gameplay.

All in all, I give the game
Art 10/10
Gameplay 10/10
Story 9/10
Controls 10/10
U.I. 9/10
Difficulty 9/10

For an overall 9/10.
Outstanding game, I am very impressed.
