No, it's not Cave Story and it doesn't try to be, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth your time. I definitely feel that it's very underrated in comparison.

The levels, combat, and bosses are just as good if not even better. It's a completely linear game, but also has newgame+, two separate campaigns and a good amount of secrets to find.

The soundtrack is definitely comparable in quality and even features some nice references to CS.

The story, characters, and atmosphere are a lot more mundane and simple in comparison...but also just as charming at the same time.

Each chapter costs $6.
Each chapter is only 30 minutes to an hour long.
The total product will be $25 for just around three hours of gameplay. Very overpriced.

It's not like it's one of those cases where the price is justified by the high quality of the experience either. You spend each chapter just tediously backtracking and fetching items, occassionally running into a few encounters that aren't even scary. The world itself is somewhat interesting but certainly not that interesting.

Bottom line is you'll get far more value out of most other games.

One of the more underrated games I've played. Good puzzles, an immersive and mysterious story, great artwork and voice acting. Multiple endings and very replayable.
