Best played under the influence of a REALLY strong cup of tea.

The first playthrough of a Miyazaki game can never be repeated, and the excitement and dread of what might be around the next corner is something to be savoured. The expansive landscape and complex level design of this DLC is impressive, inviting the player to explore every distant landmark. In addition to the challenging combat and massive choice of play-styles, exploring the intricately crafted world, finding all the shortcuts, secret areas, cryptic items and eccentric NPC's are always highlights in any FromSoft game and SotE is no exception. My only real gripe is that far too often I've gone out of my way to grab a distant shiny only to discover it's a basic smithing stone, and as most players will have collected more than enough by the time they reach the DLC it's baffling as to why there are so many. Performance on PC could be improved as the game sometimes struggles to maintain 60fps even on high-end cards, which isn't helped by the lack of Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR. Aside from that I have no other major complaints. SotE is a fantastic expansion to arguably one of the greatest games ever made, and more Elden Ring can only be a good thing.

The negative reviews are misleading, I had a really fun time playing through this co-op with a friend. The story, characters, combat are all solid, and the side-quests are (mostly) excellent. There's plenty to do after you complete the campaign too. The only downside was the Overworld which didn't add anything to the game except make navigation a bit confusing.

I don't like the TV show but I really like this game. I play it regularly with friends and family via Remote Play, and it's even more fun with Shared/Split Screen PvP.

After being on the fence about Pinball FX I now feel it is worth repurchasing tables from FX3 if you can take advantage of 'Legacy Bundle' offers during a sale. I was able to re-buy most of my favourite tables during the 2023 Autumn sale at 83% discount. The game engine runs much better now than during early access on Epic, and there are noticeable improvements in the textures, models, and lighting. The trophies and collectables are a welcome addition and an extra incentive to participate in events and tournaments. All the tables are available in trial mode so you can try for yourself before making any purchases.

I enjoyed my time in Fallout 76 and the world and story was more fleshed out than I expected, but I didn't feel motivated to continue playing past a certain point. The building tools are excellent and I spent most of my time with that. I did spend real money on bonus content which I regret doing as I don't play the game anymore, but there is plenty of fun to be had here, for a while anyway.
