SCUM might just be the greatest survival game that I've ever played. It has great graphics and runs quite well despite it being in early access and obviously still needs a bunch of optimization here and there. The game has an incredible lore/backstory unlike any FPS/Survival game I have ever come across. The detail of the game - even with the majority of features not implemented yet - already surpasses the levels of all previous survival games I know about.

Many of the early bugs and quirks as severe rubber banding and desync has been smoothed out. Server crashes are a thing of the past and I can't remember when I last came across any kind of "game breaking" bugs.

So far I've played >500 hours. I've played it on/off ever since the very first hour of release and all the way through I have had a really good time - and the potential for fun has only increased continously as the development has progressed.

As with most multiplayer survival games I would reccomend you to with a buddy. It can be very tough to make it as a solo unless you play on strictly PVE servers.

About the dev team it might be one of the most proactive and engaging teams out there - definitely on par with a studio like Facepunch (Rust) who is notoriously community engaged, but these guys just takes it to a completely other level. The constant keeping-in-touch with the playerbase makes me confident in recommending anybody with even the slightest interest in the game to invest in this title. It is not another DayZ nightmare - this is like living the dream with regards to survival game :'D

And hey - do buy the supporter pack! It's really worth it - and when you do, make sure to read the Prisoners' Field Manual ;-)
