Kemono Friends is the type of anime you can show your children and they will throughly enjoy it because of cute animals, but adults can enjoy it too because of the deep mystery behind Japari Park, Kaban (one of the main character duo) and what happened there. The common experience with this show is that people may have a hard time getting past episode 1, but by episode 4 people are thoroughly in love, their cynical minds having been melted away by the show's charm. The show features a mix of new and veteran voice talent, most notably in the main pair of characters - Kaban is voiced by a veteran, with a subtle and nuanced delivery, while Serval is a boisterous newcomer. The animation is uneven and the character models lacking in detail, but the backgrounds and environments are first class. This project is clearly a work of love by its creators. It also managed to save a franchise that was headed to dustbin due to a failed mobile game and somewhat dull manga.

Lastly, in Kaban we have one of the more remarkable main characters, her adventure of self discovery and exploring the world is one that we all go through at one time in our lives, for some of us early in life, for others late, and yet others multiple times. Seeing her grow and develop as a character is really the best thing about the show
