this game desperately needs to come out. combining a rich soundtrack and an aesthetic unseen since the 2000's nfs games, this one is sure to bring a grin to the old heads who lived through the '90s

Solid Subnautica meets role playing game but with added multiplayer mechanics not unlike Lethal Company or Among Us. Complete raids, (think DND) in icy underwater caves with a crew of salty seamen. What could go wrong on an alien planet?

Movie/TV pairings: Alien, Prometheus, Predator, The Lighthouse, Dune

This framework could provide the basis for really complex raids with all the bells and whistles for marketing towards those "DND" role playing games that have become popularized in the wake of the Fallout tv show. The makers of the WH40k mods understand this. Improvements to the mechanical and electrical systems as well as good overall game physics makes this game enticing.

I am begging developers and modders to add quality of life and small little touches, like making the chairs in the bar sittable, drinks to order, double bunking in bunk beds, just small little polishes that make the game feel more alive, allowing us more customization with the hud aesthetic.

This game was great until they decided to paywall over 200 vehicles behind a monthly subscription to get a chance to access these vehicles. Most of them were fairly cheap and frankly that was the point, take stuff out of the game that most players can access in a few hours, and lock it behind a subscription based weekly rotation.

I think we all know that this is regards to their investor calls and interviews centering around eeking every last possible cent out of a game people have been buying for the last ten years. Cancelling the release of new rdo content to focus on gta v a couple years before the release of their next title was one thing, but paywalling the final death throes of the game into oblivion has finally made me uninstall. Not fixing year one bugs, hell not fulfilling promises like story mode content, all of it, it's the final nail in the coffin for me. Obviously I'll buy gta 6 if it seems like gta v was on launch, but if i see gameplay that is as restrictive as final form gta v, frankly why give a damn? Most of my friends already thought online was too grindy, now to do it over less and less content over time seems like the actual definition of insanity.

gl rockstar.

ok i spent a lot of time in this game, and i wanted to do the review justice.

the idea of cards, and making different builds of characters to suit their different abilities was an immersive, yet tactically aware idea.

why you gotta ruin it with the blatant fan service and discord levels of cringe worthy outfits. as a side note, try not to make the new character blatantly op every time you release one, then nerf it into oblivion to make your older champs worth playing again. thats a subtle way of making the game a grind fest for no reason, as you then just nerf the character people save up for. unless youre into that sort of thing lol.

~anyway~

the game overall was pretty good, and the gameplay was def better than even valorant could pull off, just cause the characters were wetty. it was a great idea, i hope you losers dont waste more of your time

post-edit additions

let me sum up by saying the devs care more about releasing new champions to sell you or make you grind hours for than patching bugs that have been in the game since quite literally, launch. go on yt and look this game up, and see how it hasnt changed over the years besides champions and champion skins. the maps have pretty much the same layout, design, and artwork. i dont think you can find a modern fps that has a dev history like this. i genuinely dont know what they do each update but nothing seems to get fixed, more bugs are introduced, and a new champion is released that ends up having to be balanced over a series of nerfs and buffs over the next few months. again, the champion focus is a complete waste of time. the devs couldve used the starting champions and actually built a game around them, but they decided to build a game around a bunch of champions they overprice for you to pay for. i dont understand how this game was allowed to make new champions when the game hadnt even launched out of alpha/beta. just think about that. someone decided to pause the progress of the release of the game so they could spit out champions, without bothering to worry about finishing the final details of the game. the game was in alpha/beta charging people for new champions when the base game hadnt been optimized, given mac support, etc. grimy af.

they also use moba hitboxes on an fps. enemy hitboxes are legit squares and rectangles that arent shaped to the bodies of the characters v well at all. pair that with abysmal server latency and youll be killed around corners, around entities, and just in general, just feels like what youre shooting isnt actually the target but an afterimage of where the target was.

the fact that this title has any players amazes me tbh. a company that ripped off someone else's ideas, then takes a f2p and makes it pay to play before theyre even finished working on the mechanics, hitboxes, sound design, map layout, champion balance, server latency. it really speaks to the company that puts more effort in their weird lore and yt trailers and nothing on gameplay issues, balance, or anti cheat.

this game is only fun with a group of friends, as you just get to stomp the enemy team or get stomped by people streaming this for a living somehow. theres no in between, either the enemies are human controlled robots or gods of the game.

this review is so long bc this game was like a ball hair away from being the best free to play arena shooter for solos and friends and they just wasted that potential.
