My Ukrainian neighbor used to have a painting just like this in his house and I loved it. The only difference was the sloth in his picture was smoking a tiparillo cigar. I offered to buy it off him but he said it wasn't for sale. A year or so later he must have been having financial problems or something because he had a big garage sale and most of his furnishings were out there, including the sloth painting, but he was asking like $150 for it which was more than I was willing to pay. I told him I'd give him $50 for it. He got so enraged that he made me lay down in the grass and then got a nickel yellow-hot like a star and threw it on my back, burning the everloving ♥♥♥♥ out of me. To this day I feel bad about low balling him on the sloth, I just didn't understand the dynamics of haggling with an Eastern European at the time.
