It's a puzzle game that has a constant source of interesting new problems, most of which aren't even your fault.

And now there's even more things to solve on other planets and in space.

This game has all the signs of executive meddling and lacks a core focus as to what it's trying to be. Instead of having a coherent flow, so many people have made major changes to the way the game plays that it's unlikely to satisfy anyone, much less everyone, due to how they've tried to include so many different elements of completely different game genres in a way that doesn't really mesh together well.

The most obvious examples are how the PvP and PvE sections work; with the PvE being little more than a race to allow entry into the deciding PvP section sooner than the opposing team. As a player, I've never actually felt threatened by any of the "enemy" dinosaur faction, whether controlled by an AI or a human player, which contributes to the feeling that this PvE portion of gameplay is little more than a speedbump on the way to the "hero shooter" section at the end of the game.

Similarly, the actual AI dinosaurs are little more than annoyances during the final PvP section; in spite of how major a focus they take in the supposed narrative, they pose little actual threat to players even if largely ignored when compared to the opposing team, serving only as confused fodder.

I'd be willing to ignore this lack of a sense of balance between the threat posed by the opposing team and the threat posed by the AI-controlled threats if it were somewhat balanced out by, for example,

- providing the locations and tasks the players will have to complete at all times in a visible way
- offering a way for less-skilled players to identify what they are 'supposed' to be doing more easily in a team composition
- more clearly identifying that the section before the actual PvP is a 'race' that only determines the starting position in the deciding area and that critical resources should be largely saved during this 'race'
- or, demonstrating an intended 'threat level' for the dinosaur faction more clearly to establish that they are intended to feel this useless, at least at the moment, as even the 'major threat' occurrences still rarely manage to cause problems for even the least effective team

As it stands now, this project feels unfocused and in need of serious consideration as to its direction and balance. I haven't even discussed the monetisation plans; if what others are claiming is true about trying to "triple-dip" having all of an in-game shop, a battle-pass system, and a considerable purchase price; please reconsider if you need the bad publicity associated with appearing so greedy.

Regardless, the game engine itself is largely stable and quite impressive, and with enough creative control from the designers, this still has the potential, as of the open beta period, to end up as a fun and unique experience. As it stands, however, I cannot recommend purchasing this game for full price. It simply has too many people trying to make it become too many things at once, it'll end up like Resident Evil 6; creating a massive, bloated monstrosity that fulfils nobody's expectations.

Please, CAPCOM. Just allow the developers and designers to make their own game without having to throw absolutely everything into it, whether it fits or not. Sometimes, less is truly more, a lesson I'd hope you would have learned from how many times it's bitten you in the past.

I don't even like stealth games.

And yet, I love this game. Hmm.
