The game is fine, and easy to sink hours into but difficult to want to replay. The performance issues are well known, although the game did run smooth for me. The story is interesting enough, the graphics are pretty spectacular, but just about everything else is very meh. The three older games have a unique gameplay about them that this lacks. I think enough people have gone over this game's flaws though, so I feel no need to. Put simply, CoP with mods, of which there are so many to pick from, is a better and more fun experience.
I don't want to say that this game is bad or unplayable because that's not true, but it is not worth buying right now. I imagine $20-30 for this game is a good deal, but above that not worth buying currently.

So, what should someone do? Wait for this game to either be properly updated with great, true to the originals gameplay, or wait for some really impressive modding to get done that actually delivers true to the original gameplay (A-life, factions, etc.). There are some mods that really help gameplay currently, but there is not the same scope/variety of mods. Realistically, it took time for all the awesome mods we know and play on the original three STALKER games to be created, so we need to wait for modders to do the same again. DO NOT BUY RIGHT NOW! WAIT! It will take time for hugely transformative mods to be made, but I can see it making STALKER 2 truly awesome once it happens.

Absolute TRASH. I play just to get TF2 hat u guys know whet i mean. Anyway I play just a few levels i kinda forget about the TF2 hat and just play then. It is SOOOOOOO bad. I play 1 level and it takes me 40 minutes cuz dumb door opener thing is under rock... this game is TERRIBLE and getting the tf2 hat takes a while anyway this game was bad for me
