The No Man's Sky effect

ie. When a game is released in such a bad unfinished state that it takes months or even years for it to be fixed.

The game is currently better now, with less FPS drop and VRAM/RAM leaks. Still, they now want you to "play fair" while using mods (meaning no achievments if using mods). They also changed the position of some unique guns and gear, didn't do a single change in loot or stocks in the traders (they are accepting the mutant parts but just that). They added a new gun (Fora isn't new it was in the previous games) and also buffed the Gauss and RPG (which shouldn't even be nerfed in the first place it should have been released with both having OP damage since they were like that in the OG games). But we still have no word about NVGs so, well, I think night combat will be terrible forever (unless they add it later and if they do I might change my mind about this game since he's not that bad and has many nice things like visuals and the dub).

I will only keep the review in the "no" because:
  1. You don't try to be funny against the community that kept your franchise alive (and nu GSC is doing exactly that).
  2. You don't port a console game for PCs and call it "PC version" (either you make a game just for ONE platform or port it for BOTH in the right way).
  3. You don't hype people for a almost dead franchise just to announce almost in release day that the game will be made in a problematic engine just to fix it later (I wish devs stopped with this awful trend of releasing unfinished games but I don't think they even listen to their fanbases anymore).
  4. And you also don't retcon or literally remove lore things "because of irl events" that's just lame and proves you don't value your own franchise (and honestly many franchises are doing this now which is sad af).

IF you intend to buy this game, do it on a sale for God's sake. And also, don't forget to mod it and support modders here or in other sites, they deserve it.

Even better, if you're new to STALKER play the 3 OG games (not that "enhanced" shi unless you like more unfinished and censored stuff) and also play the mods on PC. STALKER is a brilliant franchise, but sadly it's going through an identity crisis right now. Very common in Current Gaming™.

The world is full of nice people, if you can't find them be one of them (but follow the questline correctly or you'll end up fighting them and don't trust the bald guy in the dark)

Again, we should have a mixed/neutral option in the reviews. This DLC adds a little more content to the game and explains things, is cool but holy cow I raged 2 times.

Pros:
- new story content
- new drones
- new abilities to learn
- new region bosses

Cons:
- guys walking around with jammer backpacks (like, the point of the game is using a drone to recon stuff and the stationary jammer was already a pain so why do that in the first place?)
- snipers that can see you miles away (like not even real military snipers are that sharp dude, what the)
- a lot of bugs (including no more choppers in some Rebel camps)

On normal this thing is a nightmare, so if you pretend to play it prepare your nerves.

W because:
  • Another brainchild of the legendary Tom Clancy.
  • Level of detail (makes you understand why some developers left to make Expedition 33).
  • Cool context and mention of other franchises also by Tom Clancy.

L because:
  • Bugged as hell like wtf with the damage and the AI of these NPCs bruh.
  • Cosmetics.
  • The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ubislop launcher.

Gonna leave it on negative because while the game is nice (in things like the Bolivian wilderness and the story) it can turn out stressful af because of Ubisoft's incompetence.
