I started this game the day it released, and today I finally finished it. My save file at the end said that my first play-through of this game took 121 hours and 33 minutes. Not surprising to me seeing as how I did ever little thing that I could, explored every nook and cranny, and save scummed my butt off. This game hit that spot that such few other games have in the past. Outer wilds, Mass Effect, Hollow Knight, Tunic, GoW, DAO, etc. And unlike most games I've played, I fully finished the campaign and saw it through to the end.

Admittedly, I thought I would finish this game a lot sooner. I took a 1 month gap after my college roommate, and well, my friend, passed away. He finished the game within the first week or two. At the time I was still on Act 1 of the game. The duality of man.

When I first started playing through the Mass Effect Trilogy through the legendary edition, he was the only other person who I knew that actually played Mass Effect, and he played the originals before the remaster. Actually at the time of starting it I had no idea he even played the game. I just remember that one day when he walked into my room and saw me playing it, and he lit up, which was something I didn't see him do very often. As he would watch me slowly go through each game during my junior year, he would ask me what I thought about the characters and the plot and he would share the excitement of learning more and more about the Mass Effect universe with me.

He was the only person I knew who actually played video games. The only person who shared the same passion I had of playing great games with the most incredible stories and getting lost in them. I wish I had finished the game sooner, so I could have talked to him about how incredible it was.
