Papers, please is a game that everyone can enjoy. A set of rules that must be followed are given to the player every day, along with some secondary quests that are left to them to decide. What is great is that the game tells you how it wants to be played, but it left entirely up to you to decide if you want to do things that way. However, you quickly discover that your actions have concequences and things are not always black-and-white.
The player constatly faces moral delimmas that force him to balance, question and weight between their dignity, honor, pride, patriotism, compassion, selfishness and love for their family because it is quickly made clear that one can not possess all.
As such it is made clear that the seamingly simple job the player has is not so simple afterall, and it is from this point that the several paths the player takes are starting to appear. With a surpring 20 different endings, you can play this game many times and still discover new parts of the story as you start to see Arstotzka and the people from different perspectives.
On the technical side, the game is great, it runs smoothly (as expected of a 2D game) but you might notice a drop in frames if you increase the window size without setting it to fullscreen. The controls are great and natural and it feels like it is not a game at times.
In regards to music, well, a masterpiece. It matches the game and captures the atmosphere perfectly.
