Early Access Review
I like this game so much that I played and went pass maxing out the progression for the demo. Although I am sad that my progress did not carry over, I am glad to see that the full game has so much more content available in terms of classes, weapons, armor, skills, buffs and even races!

Also, this game is better than Diablo 4 Season 8.

The gameplay is very smooth, and I absolutely love the gradual difficulty progression. Unlike other titles in the same genre - which often feature steep difficulty spikes and clunky mechanics that make them feel artificially difficult and less enjoyable - this game strikes the right balance. I'm excited to see how the development progresses. As it stands, I’m already quite sold on it.

As a person who never had a chance to play the original FF7 on the PS1, I could only watch other people's gameplay and that was enough for me to familiarise myself with the game which then became a gateway to the entire franchise.

Being able to finally own this game on the PC is a dream come true albeit of course being well aware that the story isn't exactly the same.

The game is great and charming, The music was great first time around, and it's even better now.

Don't care much for combat (and skills) and more in it for the story.

The SNES version of this game an introduction to Square games to me by my brother back in the day. While it was mainly a single player game, I was very excited to tag along as second player in the original version. I was ecstatic that they remastered this game with quality of life improvements too.

I was more interested in the story and the various options of class changes offered in this game than "skill" and this game caters for casuals like me. Most of all, I am happy that they maintain the character and costume designs instead of pandering to those SJWs / being-offended bandwagon.

If you loved the SNES game for its story, world and variety of job classes, this will definitely be a recommended experience. A beautifully remastered nostalgic trip and then some.

As a longtime Baldur's Gate series fan, I've also played Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights 1, Jade Empire. And then many years later series such as Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Divinity Original Sin 1. Always trying to find something similar but only finding "spiritual successors" some of which had the least bit of subtle features borrowed from the original.

Then there was Pillars of Eternity 1, which lore was very daunting at first to get into. After playing it again and slowly appreciating every detail, the story started to grow on me. Then came Pillars of Eternity 2, at this point I was already "settled in" the word of Eorzea.

PIllars of Eternity 2 took what worked from Baldur's Gate time, and put a whole lot of love in storytelling, variety of choices and consequences, not to mention very refined script writing. While I am not a fan of the lore of the deities in this game's setting, I appreciate everything else. The music is great too, especially for its budget.

What this game manages to do that other games never have tried, is actually traveling by sea across the archipelago of isles which made the game's world seem on a grand scale. The world itself while in a fantasy setting is refreshingly different trying to incorporate many different kinds of cultures. Such as the human race not having the typical types of cultures.

If you like Baldur's Gate, and If you want many hours, and I do mean many hours in a single playthrough, this game is for you. The class system is nice and all, but I play games mainly for the story and how things play out - you may find other reviewers discussing that.

The journey is worth the price, especially when on sale.

It's a nice game with simple controls (up and down) that doesn't require too much effort in playing.

An immersive and self-contained game which offer immeasurable replay value with so many things to do. And to do at your leisure. For players who love the MMO experience but prefer more solo gameplay, at your own pace - this is for you.

Got the Special Edition free for owning the original Skyrim.

Bought this a long while ago during sales. Finished it within 13 hours of game time at 72% overall completion.

I enjoyed the storytelling of the game as it captivated me. It motivated me to see to the conclusion of the story. Love the direction as it felt like being immersed in a movie. Didn't appreciate the quicktime events (QTE) though, particularly the timing indicators weren't intuitive enough, which led to me having to watch Lara die horrible deaths over and over again like when Conan O'Brian played it.

I positively enjoyed this game as I did with Legends and Underworld. The creativity of embedding real world myths and legends makes the games very interesting.

DIdn't really care for puzzles (thankfully they were relatively easy in this game) or QTEs.

If you like the Indiana Jones kind of elements but with more action and vibrantly saturated myths/legends. You will enjoy what this franchise has to offer.

When I first read about it, I was intrigued by the combination of fantasy and cyberpunk settings - elves, dwarves, orcs, etc in a futuristic world - which was something that is rather rare over the years and fascinates me.

I thought the gameplay would be an isometric action RPG similar to that of say the Diablo franchise. Once I started the game, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was somewhat like Baldur's Gate. Though I was disappointed by the turn-based combat (not to my taste). However I would describe the turn-based combat as a "mild" mechanic that I got used to rather quickly.

The story was intriguing and I noticed great effort put into the game's artwork while there was earnest & tremendous effort put into the writing.

It's simple enough to get into and doesn't require "hardcore" hours invested. I recommend this to anybody who is interested in the combination of fantasy, cyberpunk and investigation elements.
