Kind of a mild recommend.

I'm not sure if I can objectively rate how good a logic puzzle is, but I got about 80-90% of the answers right on a first playthrough. The ones I got wrong were a mix between at least 1 where the right answer was my 2nd choice, maybe 1-3 calls where the correct choice, in my opinion, seemed a little too unclear to derive from the initial information given, and two calls where I absolutely admittedly messed up.

I would read every new entry during the first call of the day and there was a decent mix of answers I got immediately and some I had to carefully consider. Though honestly, the mundane pests might have been the hardest thing to distinguish. So I felt pretty decent about applying the information passed to me.

If you give a caller the wrong information, you will get a call from them on the same or following day. This will functionally give one more hint as to what the correct answer would have been, which is why I feel confident with that extra informational feedback why I got something wrong and what the correct answer was.

Otherwise I thought the atmosphere was ok, even if one of the video files felt too much like that one Youtube video "Every Analog Horror Be Like." There were a few moments I felt unnerved, but I can see how some people might not find this game remotely scary.

It might be unfair to compare this game to "Papers, Please" or "Return of the Obra Dinn," but I would say it scratches the same gameplay itch those games had, but not quite getting there in how well those other games weave gameplay with story, tell a narrative, or present gameplay as more than just text (admittedly on that last point, this game being a bestiary is very much intentional, but I still feel as though something more could have been done).

(Also to be honest I have a gripe that I cannot easily get all the wrong answer calls, just for the sake of my own curiosity and seeing all the dialogue the game has to offer.)

EDIT: They patched the game, thanks devs
