Writing this about 40-50% through the story on my first playthrough. I don't think there's anything I can add that hasn't already been said about this game.

But I can say that this is the cRPG that finally 'clicked' for me. I think I can actually go back and (re)try some of the other greats such as DOS2, PoE, Disco Elysium, Wasteland 3, etc. with this newfound appreciation for the genre.

Apart from that, it also got me heavily interested in trying out DnD and shed a ton of light on lore that was already a part of one of my other favorite hobbies, Magic the Gathering, which I was never exposed to in that way prior to BG3.

Early Access Review
After trying out the demo years and years ago and not being too impressed at the time, I kinda forgot about this game. I don't know what compelled me to try it out again but I bought it on a whim the day before it went on sale and I don't regret paying more. It's easily worth double the price for the amount of fun I've been having.

The game is hard to describe, since it's not like most other games. You can read other reviews and watch videos for more details on the actual gameplay, but I will say I've been playing it every single day for hours, and thinking about it when I'm not playing.

With the latest update (B41), as I understand it a lot of fundamental mechanics have been reworked and massive locations have been added, so right now is the perfect time to jump in. The community and player count is absolutely exploding and the YouTube scene is burgeoning as well. I think this game has an excellent future and I can't wait for the next updates, although I haven't even scratched the surface of what the game has to offer in its current state.

Also, the workshop mods are amazing.

Looks, feels and plays like utter trash. Couldn't even be bothered to finish my first game of Conquest on the free weekend.

Goodbye, Battlefield. You used to be great.

Great gameplay, great visuals, but ruined by an awful "progression" and Battlepass system.

*Edit 20-Nov:
343 slapped on a band-aid "fix" with the play a match challenge, but the lack of any real progression or ranking up still really hurts the game. This game will bleed players FAST if they don't overhaul it asap.

Amazing experience, from start to end. Just buy it and see for yourself.

*Edit: Updated for the Steam GOTY award!

From what I've played so far, this already feels like an excellent digital version of Dominion.

A few bullet points:
-The AI is pretty dang tough
-I'm glad that the expansions are no longer behind a subscription, because it's damn hard to get me to buy a subscription to anything and the expansions are decently priced
-I have some minor annoyances with the giant text, even on 'normal' size it's way too big, and the inability to see the card text without clicking on them first, seems like that should be a setting
-It crashed a few times, but it's no biggie since you can be right back in the game right where you left off in a matter of seconds! Excellent feature

Looking forward to many more hours with one of my favorite games, now on Steam, my favorite gaming platform (other than a real life table, of course!)

I loved TR 2013 and Rise... this one is just boring, tedious and somehow even clunkier. The characters, the story, the upgrade system, all of it is just piss poor. I had high hopes because the first hour or two were a good opener, but after reaching the first town the game just takes a nosedive off a cliff in terms of quality and enjoyability.

Mild fun for a few hours but not worth the asking price.
