Dialogue is either cringe or boring as ♥♥♥♥ and I don't care about the porn

It's like a drug, not one of those addictive ones though. You abuse it in a horrific binge one evening, feel completely abused then come back a few weeks later to abuse it again and feels destroyed by the experience but you won't stop you filthy addict.

The good:
It's a mech game, if you like mechs you'll probably still be happy
A fantastic mech builder
Suprisingly good enemy variety
A lot of potential if it gets some tweaks

The bad:
Too easy, but not in the power trip way. You don't feel like a godly mech, you just dodge some easy attacks then go to town on damage sponges. The enemies are too beefy and most of them aren't a threat. I played on hard and haven't really found any part of the game a challenge yet.
Boring level design, it's all just roughly circular arenas joined by tiny corridors.
Unused movement options, you can jump and fly but thanks to the level design its pointless and you run right into invisible walls
Can't create the style of mech you want without random drops, you start with very few weapon variations and limited mech armours so if you have a playstyle and look in mind then you need to go get those random drops. This blueprint grind is sucky, I know because I've been doing it.



It's a competent mech game, maybe worth £10-15 in its current state as its flaws really hold it back. If you really like mechs you'll probably still have some fun.


EDIT: With the most recent update, enemy AI on hard difficulty feels a lot more aggressive and less spongey to me so far. I am not far through the current update, however that change alone is enough to push this game over the edge into a rather tentative positive review as it is a step in the right direction. I still mainly recommend the game for your mecha enthusiast rather than your normal player.

Watch, as yet again the SUPERHOT devs struggle to understand what makes their concept compelling. In the first game they had great and addicting levels broken up with tedious and borderline pretentious story and now they follow that up with lifeless and repetitive levels broken up with lifeless and repetitive levels.

SUPERHOT is fun when it's a puzzle shooter where the puzzle is "How can I kill these people AND make it feel cool", MIND CONTROL DELETE flips that concept on its head by giving you loads of new tools for the combat puzzle then making only 8 or so combat arenas (more than one copy pasted from the previous game) that are all survival type missions so everything devolves into the same ♥♥♥♥ every level. They attempt to break this up with randomly generated powers and stuff but it isn't enough.

It's not terrible, but it misses the mark on what makes this gameplay concept fun so badly it hurts. Do not buy this, if you got it for free then enjoy however much you can.

All I can call it is the game I never knew I wanted, it's comfy, a little stressful, resource and time management that isn't too stressful. It kinda encompasses a lot of little things that really speak to me so I feel this positive review is very subjective even though I think it's a great game.

It is very immersive, with physics, in space which is the three perfect elements to make me like a game. Just go read someone else's review, I'm just here to pump the positive numbers up since I really enjoy the 3 hours i accidentally played when I thought I had only been playing for an hour.

45 minute playthrough with filler and little replay value. You can have the most interesting plot in the world, interesting visuals and cool sound design but without having an actual game nobody should be spending £5.
