Short review, I very much enjoy this game as I find the base gameplay to be very fun, and I like the control scheme of WASD move/Mouse aim. By default the game is definitely designed for PvP with the decay mechanics and fast travel limitations, but there are various rule sets to play with.

You can join PvP servers to get the competitive experience the game's default rule set is designed for, or you can join PvE for an equally enjoyable cooperative experience. You also have the option to host your own private game if you want to go fully solo or only play with a handful of friends, and private games have a lot of custom rules you can adjust to tailor your experience, such as turning off castle decay or adding starting equipment/resources.

So far as a PvE experience I enjoy the gameplay loop and combat. Bosses are engaging and there is a good variety of abilities to unlock and play around with.

As of this writing I have not experienced PvP.
