I've played Pixel Gun since 2013, nostalgia controls me and all. When I learnt that there was a PC port coming I was happy knowing I could finally play the game without downloading it on my phone and wasting precious storage. That being said, ever since Cubic bought this game over from Rilisoft when it went bankrupt in 2017, it's been an absolute sh*tshow since.

The good:

After 8 years of rumours and the original Pixel Gun World PC port by Alex Krasnov having been around, its finally out. A PC port for Pixel Gun. While it could definitely be better as a functional port for PC (as this is quite literally the mobile version ripped from its source and chucked into a Unity container) it's finally here.

The bad:

The touch circle needs to go. Let me use a mouse. There's no reason why I should have a touch circle that pops up when I'm playing the game and I can't do anything or push any button to turn it off, which in turn doesn't allow me to do anything.

At least make an effort to balance the weapons or make a structured meta instead of building new weapons over the sh*tty meta weapons you've brought in as paid items so that free2play players have a f*cking chance. Because quite literally unless you're an absolute demon at the game with aim better than 95% of your lobby, you don't stand a chance without paid weapons. Which is incredibly sad.

Take me back to 2013, no premium currency, weapons that were balanced based on your level, no p2w bullsh*t popping up in my face every 3 seconds, no battlepass setup, no this, no that - just pixel gun in its barest form. A mobile shooter thats based off the graphics of Minecraft. As it was intended.

Thankfully, old versions are still available and actually have a (albeit quite dead) playerbase! Found out about Pixel Gun X (PGX), later rebranded to the "Old Pixel Gun Community", which has old versions available and an improved, playable fork of the old Pixel Gun World beta that was released on PC 8 years ago (which has been named and updated to PGXI).

I've spent 700 hours on this game.

Through tears, laughs, countless kills and deaths, I've loved every second of it.

Just a few things though:

If you want to play a game, queue up with a friend or for the best experience, with a squad. Hitboxes are alright, but could be improved. Don't be surprised if you solo queue and find yourself with a bunch of salty russians. If it happenes, don't use your mic.

Played it for a while, got bored of it. It will be a good game if you've got a good computer, unlike me.

Barely any Pay-to-Win in this. Though there are VERY few hackers, It's still fun.

People are nice and not at all like csgo players
You can always find a server

-Cons
Sometimes servers are not always full
Very few maps to play on
Headshot hitboxes are quite small
They mix pros with the noobs (yes, even I had to learn the hard way)
