I love every arena shooter, and Quake has a special place in my heart. Quake Champions was seriously good even with hero mechanics, meaning different stats and abilities for different heroes, but I can't seriously recommend this game. Why you ask? Mostly because they scammed a big part of the community with the last BIG Patch (20.12), where they introduced a new progression system, battlepass, new skins, map, mode, etc. You are thinking where is the problem with that? New content is great but this patch made the game unplayable for people with 8gb of ram. (check the minimal requirements). Game will pretty often freeze for half a second. Today is 29.01.2019 and I still have this issue.
Better alternative: Diabotical (soon).
