Early Access Review
I bought this game and one of the selling point was that it had some of the people who had designed left 4 dead and l4d 2 on the team.

Unfortnatly this feels like a very poor clone with a lot of things done poorly.

First of all, gun play. Straggler aliens can be killed with your pistol to save on ammo. You get 3 different main guns (rifle, shotgun, SMG) with 3 special weapons you can pick up. I only got the arc rifle and the laser rifle. Most of the guns feel samey but when you end up seeing hordes, then the gun differences really stand out. Rifles become useless, even in normal mode the rifle just can't kill anything fast enough when a full mag can kill maybe 10 alience but there's like 50 and another 50 spawn behind them. SMGs aren't any better because the bulllets aren't strung enough to kill. Shotgun is the only thing that can take on the hyper dense hordes. That and the arc rifle which just kills everything in a cone.

Story/theme/gameplay: The levels feel super samey. I've gotten lost a lot trying to figure out where I was and what I was looting because I was looking for health kits most of the time. The looting is almost pointless because you only really find grenades and normal weapons. Special weapons are super easy to come by and the only true question you have is what do you like best. There's no real story and getting from one end to the other doesn't have any reasoning for doing so. Then you just hold out on the objective in the first level. There's a perk system to add a rouge lite figure to the game. The characters don't really matter and they don't talk to each much at all. But the perks are random and are the same for each character and player. The perks are almost all defense or help you be more effective in crowd dispersal. There's nothing that's going to make you too strong though. And you could easily do fine without them. As the game progresses with more zombie hordes it's worth getting perks to increase the chances of survival but with 1-2 people with shotguns, hordes die fast anyways.

Enemy wise there's not much going on. The specials aren't super dangerous (and half the time I don't even know if I'm taking damage because the enemies don't really have obvious attacks and it's hard to tell when they connect). The common zombies all look the same. The specials don't really do much. There's a goo alien that's super easy to kill and doesn't do much damage. There's a spawner that just lazily walks around. A grabber who dies super quick, and the tanky brute type alien that will fall over dead with a laser rifle or a 2 mags of shotty to the face. There are grenades with different types. 3 different type of slow grenades, 1 regular 'splosion type, 1 molly type, and a pipe bomb type. They can be upgraded with a random perk to increase their radius or the amount you pick up from the ground but they largely are just ok. The bubble shield is pretty useful since you get to protect you and your team, keep out the aliens, while giving you time to reload, heal and thin the hordes. Otherwise horde clear grenades are the best.

And that's it. There's nothiing much else to the game. The levels are largely the same and the retro theme is just a way of allowing the devs to not do any detailed designs of the rooms, which is pretty depressing. New areas don't even feel all that great since they don't really offer much. There's few scripted events that don't simply involved more aliens. It's not like the spaceship around you really does much. The game just feels unfinished.

Back 4 Blood is mode by other devs from Left 4 Dead and that game is everything Anacrusis wants to be. Much better rogue lite features, dynamic events, unique areas, specials that you really have to worry about, better polished common enemies, defined story, and reasons to loot much more.

Overall I can't really recommend this game. Especially at $30. It's just not finished, and if it's close to being finished it's not very good. It's currently on sale for $15 and even then I still have a hard time recommending it. Just play the original l4d 2 and get the DLC because it's much better than this in every way.

Review update 6/12/22

This game has changed a lot since it was released!

The cards have been rebalanced and you get a full deck immediately instead of having to wait. The rouge-like elements have been updated so you can use the in game copper you earn to buy new cards. The special zombies spawn less and are much more balanced!

1. Thematic of this game has been pretty solid. Zombies are basically an alien worm infection and that mutated. So the ridden mutate over the course of the game in random ways. Regular zombies can become more deadly or harder to kill as part of the rogue-like experience. But also, the specials mutate too. As the story progresses they take different mutation paths. The explode-y type can evolve to shoot acid, or gain speed, or gain the ability to pull you in. The tall boys can just smash your team while moving slow, it can gain speed, armor, or the ability to grab you. As enemies mutate, their weakspot changes. Specials can have smaller or different weakspots. They can even grow a hard shell to protect themselves in later games making them much harder to kill.

2. Characters. The characters in this game are pretty well done and they are adding more voicelines. But so far, everyone talks to each other and you learn some of their backstories. They all have different abilities and perks that are worth going for. For example: Evangelo is a melee character who has 5% faster move speed, 20% higher stamina recovery, and his special ability is that he can break out of a grab. All crazy useful stuff for a melee build or any other build in which you might want those states. You can also customize the look of the character with unlockable outfits for a bit of flair too.
]
3. Gameplay. All the guns in this game are really good. It all depends on what you want out of them. You can build a deck around relaod speed with sniper rifles or just build for as much ammo as possible with LMGs. It's all personal preference and it's kind of nice to play how you want. It is a team game so you want to make sure to diversify your load out. Not everyone can grab a rifle or sniper! Guns feel powerful and have a great feel overall to them.

4. Story. There's a few cut scences in the game but mostly it's about the main characters who are "cleaners". They are tasked to run supplies and clean out areas because they are immune and willing to fight the ridden.

NPC didn't spawn on a story mission and there's no way I can continue. I have 100 hours and the game and there's no other way to fix this without just restarting my save.

Early Access Review
One of thebest survival games around. Leveling feels very significant and it's not a huge grind fest if you're building, crafting, and killing zombies. Zombies and wildlife have some decent variety but varied enough to enjoy. Lots of things to loot and all loot feels worth while. Things that seem worthless before all of a sudden will be important later. The reason people give this a bad review and the reason I did too is lack of updates. Game as some pretty nasty bugs. Friends in multiplayer would lose all of their items and so did I a few times. It didn't take long to get them back about half an hour max since you have all the prereqs for crafting most everything.

The last time it was updated was a year ago but the future update which looks to come around November at this rate, seems to be a massive improvement with new guns, new cars, better physics, etc. Why they can't just drip feed us the new updates is mystery to us all.

I played 17 hours in this game and I just didn't like this at all. The characters were really flat and onlyever had one thing that was the whole point of the story. The love interest was the love interest and not much else. No interesting backstories, or side missions to devleop the love interests any more then what it already was. Some other chatacers showed up but their point was not well made and they seemed to have a single point in the game.

The game play was very lacking in both depth and ... game. Enemies were pretty much just punching bags with bosses just bigger punching bags with not much extra power. Theres a system to equip items but they didn't make much of a difference. Even ones regarding status effects were pointless since status effects were rare. You didn't seem to really get more power at all in the whol game and the party members you could get didn't feel all that useful to me. The main chacter has 3 attacks and multiple weapons but there didn't seem to be much of a difference in power and the "Ultimate" attacks that use a lot of SP didn't hit any harder had I just wacked an enemy with my faster attack.

There's just little to like. Lacking story, flat chacters, overley easy gamplay that almost plays itself.

Artwise the game looks great and it's got a pretty good atmosphere. Not as cool as soom of the pictures so. After playing for nearly 20 hours I saw just a lot of the same city and the underground portions of the city that were pretty bland.

Overall, if you've got nothing else to do and you need a game this should be far down your list. For the 20-30$ price tag there are much more quality games that you'd enjoy.

Medicore game with a medicorue story and linear levels. Nothing is too different about the game to really stand out. The shooting mechanics are damn solid which is a big plus. The enemies are forgetable but fun to shoot and pretty tough if you turn up the difficulty. To be honest, it has the best voice acting I've seen in awhile. Very lively, and well done in a way I've not seen it done in another other game out there besides maybe the Witcher 3 and a few others. I'd recommend it if you can get it for $7 or less. Multiplayer I haven't touched but I wouldn't assume anyone plays it so skip on that part of the DLC.

If you can get it cheap buy it for a fun 15-20 hours of game play. Otherwise save your money for something better.

Pros:
Great voice acting
Solid, stable graphics
Strong sound track
Deep story line
Interesting characters
Mystery and thrills!!!
Good decision making trees

Cons:
Models are limited in expression
Voices don't match well with mouth movement
Somewhat repetitive puzzles

Overall: Highly recommended

The game has a lot to offer and is fantastic for an adventure game. If you like adventure games this is a must have for your collection. It's got a deep and interesting story line that anyone could love. Lots of choices with some known consequences and some unknown consequences in game play. The only issue is the puzzles of the game. There aren't many, which is a good thing because it would take away from the rich storyline. The ones that are there aren't time consuming and a bit repetitive but nothing hard or frustrating.

I'm a big fan of games Myst and similar games. This has an amazingly strong atmosphere that really sucks you in and makes you want to continue playing to figure out what happens next.

My Rating: 4/10 /There are better.
TL:DR Nice visual, bogged down by generic gameplay and forgetable characters.

The Good:
Interesting graphics
Lots of ryhming giving the game a truely child like feel to it
Sound track is pretty strong

The Bad:
The story line is simple and not memorable due to it's simplicity
New areas are kept simple and very little back story is given
Rhyming can make the story less clear

The Ugly:
Battle system is horrific. A lot of special abilities do LESS then your basic attack
The "gem" system of the game is badly unbalanced
No incentive to level up other characters if their basic attack doesn't do good damage
Characters are too flat, even for a simple story

Strike Suit Inifinty is the Arcade version of Strike Suit Zero. It has a bunch of missions, ships upgrades to get, weapon systems to upgrade and a lot of fun gameplay. You start off with the Strike Suit and unlike another later on with a bit of gameplay.

What makes the game is the game play. There are smaller ships and larger ships that take all your fire power to kill. All the while you are watching for incomming missles, enemy fighters, torpedos, mines and all sorts of danger. That's why you need to transform, do more damage faster and take out the big ships before it gets messy. You get to choose who else gets to fight with you and your load out each mission. There's no online play and the scoreboards are kind of crazy in terms of high score but the gameplay alone is super fun.

My score would be 8/10. Totally worth playing for the price. I've spent near 5 hours and I need to unlock more to play farther. I've only made it halfway through and hoping to beat it in 15-20 hours. I feel like spending those 15/20 hours simply based on gameplay since there is no story. It does gameplay fantastically.

One of the best games around. Soundtrack is pretty amazing and the replay value of the game isn't too bad. New game+ really allows you have a tougher game but also a better understanding of the real story that's going on. There's a ton of info being shot at you at all times about the back story and a second play through pieces it all together in a way that the first play through never did.
