I'd like to start by saying that I don't like the argument of "It's a good game, just a bad MGS game", as I do believe games have identities, and simply classifying them as something as generic as a mere "game" can sound insulting to those involved in its development.

MGSV is a good Metal Gear game, not the best, not as great as MGS3, but it's still pretty good. Stealth and movement mechanics are fluid and improved over previous entries (with the exception of camo which has been super dumbed down), and the open world nature of the game allows for lots of replayability, specially with mission objectives, FOB mode, and the occasional sideop expansion mod.

The thing that holds this game back from greatness is its story, which lacks a lot of cohesion and a proper ending. Without giving any spoilers, the game starts with a super dark tone, then drops it, as if it forgot that it was dark to begin with. And the cohesion problems are not just in regards to the tone, but the story itself as well, but that's a different can of worms that I don't want to open to keep this as short but informative as possible.

Worth getting? Yes. Is it good? Definitely. Is it great or the best MGS game? Definitely not, but sadly not all games can be masterpieces, but this one is definitely good, even if you're in for the SP content.

After playing enough to see as much of the game as possible, I can say this is one of the most disappointing Fallout games there are, it's bloated with mediocre features that make the game look like it has an identity crisis, and while the writing itself is alright, it's ruined by the game's horrible 4-option-only dialogue system, which is vague and fails to reflect what my character is actually going to say.

RPG elements are dumbed down, as the only things that make builds different from each other is how they perform in combat, and nothing else. Remember when the perks and skills you invested in could affect even dialogue? Well that doesn't happen here, I'm not joking when I say that most of the time your option are saying Yes, No, Sarcastic/Douche (and still agreeing), and exiting the conversation.

The game's only saving grace is the modding, and while that's not a bad thing by itself, it's the modders that do the heavy lifting for the game, and if you want to get it for that reason I don't blame you, as I did the same.

Play Tarkov or Far Cry instead, at least those games know what they are and what they want to be, and they do it well. Oh, and you can always check older Fallout games, even 3.

PS: To the developer who decided to make most guns left-handed: Go to hell, do your research on how guns work.

Edit: Back to the topic of modding, a lot of you must be aware of the Fallout 3 and NV remake mods coming to FO4, and as I previously mentioned if you wanna get this game for that reason go ahead, those two games are classics that deserve a remake, and if you see this review go up in play time, it'll be because of said mods, because I can assure you I'm getting them. And if you want to avoid giving Bethesda your money directly, get the game through a reseller.

Edit 2: I'm a huge fan of the New Vegas' mod DUST, and I discorvered its FO4 version, FROST. Honestly, I'd recommend that over the base game, it removes the main story (Bye bye Shaun, never cared for you anyway) and turns the game into a true open world sandbox hardcore survival game. I'm having lots of fun with it.
TLDR: FROST (mod) > Base game

It's pretty much a modernized version of the 2D Fallout games, and it clearly draws a lot of inspiration from it, and the end result is a very enjoyable turn-based RPG. Most (if not all) of your stats play an important role during gameplay, and not just in combat, but in dialogue and quest-solving as well.

6.5/10

If I had to review the game on its own, I'd give it an 8/10, but since it comes with the horribly designed maps of the default campaign (in comparison to HLM1), this review would be negative.

But thank god this game has a level editor. Many fans have created levels that are far more enjoyable than those included in this game (seriously, ♥♥♥♥ Release and Dead Ahead, even though I got the X90 combo). This is where the game truly shines.

To summarize this review:
-Game: 8/10
-Default levels: 3/10
-Fan levels/campaigns: Varies, but I can guarantee you at least a 6/10

Early Access Review
One of the best open world zombie survival games along with State Of Decay. Project Zomboid is a hardcore RPG where you play as an average person instead of an action hero, thus making you feel actually vulnerable. The game will always remind you of your eventual death every time you load a game, and alongside the game mechanics plus the OST makes for a very immersive experience.
Another positive aspect of this game is its relative low spec requirements, which makes it more accesible.

Is there anything negative about the game? Yes, the slow development time. Although there are weekly blogposts on the progress being made, players usually have to wait for updates for months, which can make the game feel boring after a while, as there are no end-game goals.

However, if you were to show me this game and tell me it's finished I'd believe it, but the devs want to release the game in its best state possible. Give PZ a go, it's pretty good.
