Vastly improved combat system with fleshed out and much more balanced Job system. It's a lot easier to try out different jobs and not feel like you're starting from square one.

I'm a huge fan of the series and just finished playing everything 0 - Infinite Wealth (including most spinoffs) and I found Kiryu's arc and memories very fulfilling. The main backbone of the plot isn't the strongest in the series, but there are so many good characters, so many good moments that I'm overall still enamored with its presentation.

I love the setting of Hawaii, I'd argue it's a better setting than Ijincho. I also thoroughly enjoyed Dondoko Island and collecting Sujimon. Such creativity and I can't wait to see more from now my favorite video game series.

Played for about 8 hours. Long time SH2 fan and so far I'm pleased with the game's presentation and artistic qualities. That can change based on how the game finishes up.

My recommendation comes with some caveats. 3070TI laptop struggled to run smoothly (for my standards) but the thing that made it unplayable was traversal stuttering. Noticeable right away and especially outside Neely's Bar. Lots of tweaking and even moving to my 3080 10gb desktop.

Turning off GPU Hardware acceleration in Windows 11 settings, turning off RayTracing and turning on DLSS to performance mode helped a ton. I see some hiccups here and there but it's not nearly as distracting. I had wide swings in performance which is why I turned down the settings more than I'd have liked.

Good game artistically; not generally a smooth-running game. I recommend the game but keep an eye on performance reviews.

A game greater than the sum of its parts.

This game would be an enjoyable beat-em-up if you just did the main campaign. I can imagine it might get frustrating and seem limiting, especially with seemingly arbitrary locked skill upgrades. The more you dig into what goes on in this game the more things open up. It's almost overwhelming.

You can't get from Point A to Point B without someone stopping you to get your help. Everything seems so urgent in the main story, but take the time to interact with some people and you'll see there's a rich group of sub-stories that flesh out Kamurocho and makes a seemingly small open world seem incredibly lively and deep.

I bounced off of this game a few times. Started on PS4 played it a bit. Started on PC and put it down. Too overwhelming. Lately I've been picking it up on Steam Deck and can't put it down. It started with a few main stories and then I found out I really enjoyed the Pool Minigame. It's adequate and fleshed out. The kind of game you'd never pick up on its own or even in a small game pack but definitely can sink hours into in something else (I loved the pool minigame in Super Monkey Ball 2). Pretty much every minigame is fleshed out. They're not all my favorite, but the variety and overall quality of them is very impressive. It's a nice break from some of the heavy topics in the main game.

I want to learn Mahjong and Shogi (these are all complete minigames with all sorts of things to complete). There are a handful of rhythm games in Disco and Karaoke. Some of the minigames are frustrating, some of the tutorial paragraphs are vague and not overly helpful.

But I couldn't believe how much time I sunk into the two main games... would I call them minigames? Macrominigames? Cabaret Club Czar and Real Estate Royale. They're treated like well polished mobile games that are interwoven with the main game.

There is a common thread in the game that ties everything together. Love the characters. Kiryu and Majima are two of my favorite video game characters period by this point and I'm excited to explore more.

The game looks great, mostly plays great and it really feels like an "everything game" in a way that I haven't really experienced in other things.

Sometimes things seem sectioned off. The goofy substories, one-off characters, and deep minigames seem at odds with the super serious tone of the main story but all in all it works.

I am in the finale chapter and cleaning up loose ends. It seems like an impossible task to 100% it (there are frustrating elements all over specific minigames and substories) but rarely do things ask too much of the player.

I appreciate how the game coaxes you to get out of the main story and participate in minigames. They are required for a lot of story completion or even completing OTHER substories. I know for a fact I would have skipped more if I wasn't forced to play some. And the things I would have skipped were some of my favorite components of the game.

Sort of a long-winded review, but I love this game. Haven't beaten it yet but it's pretty much clinched as one of my favorite games of all time at this point.

Worst of the numbered RE games by far. Frustrating camera overly ridiculous and tedious levels. Decent looking game, but the art design is a big step down. I played through it more to at least complete one of each of the numbered games, but I kind of want my time back. This game is bad.
