Great game, 100% recommend it. This game is pretty much a straight 1:1 upgrade over MW5: Mercs. The 'Mechs feel more satisfying to pilot, the weapons feel punchier, the VFX are nicer, the sounds are better, the meat and potatoes of moving and shooting is way more satisfying. The only real complaint I have for it currently is the lack of any sort of competitive multiplayer. Career mode would be fun, but MW5: Mercs proved to me that there's pretty diminishing returns on how many times you can play the same few basic RNG missions (without modding it heavily, but even then...) so I'm not particularly upset about that.

Story wise? Huge step up. The characters are actually characters, the voice acting can be awkward sometimes but it feels more like voice acting and less like a staff member doing a line read. It humanizes the Clanners as more than just space orcs, while still not hiding how big of jerks they are. There are no real good guys in BattleTech, but even the badguys are just coming at things from a different perspective. I also feel invested in what's going on, and it feels like I'm tagging along on the vanguard of this big invasion. I know how this ends but I'm still having a blast getting there.

The way the Clan warriors talk is also just so charming. Them never using contractions is a bit jarring but having a team of very angry Lt. Commander Datas running around complaining about food out of a can is delightful. I am a bit sad that they chose to make the Clanners all hot though (even the guy who's like 100% scars and has no eye) when in all the lore they're a bunch of roided out, unhinged muscle blobs that make Doomguy look pretty.

The campaign is pretty good, not anywhere near the other games but totally worth a playthrough. The multiplayer however is a blast. A great game to just chill out and play for a bit with satisfying gunplay and great map traversal. If you ever were the type to spend hours playing HALO as a kid, this is a great way to get that exact same feeling.

The cash shop and the constant fomo and the way that so many armors are locked behind it is pretty terrible though. There are still plenty of really cool customizations you can get without spending money but this is probably the biggest sin the game has committed.

Also shock weapons rule.

I genuinely don't understand how there are people who don't understand the satire in this game. It makes me feel things.

DRM added makes it unplayable on Steam Deck. As this is where I mostly play it and many of my friends do as well, the game is now basically unplayable.

Great game, but unplayable.

The game runs like a slidehsow on my Steam Deck and crashed my entire system. Most of the UI elements don't work, menus in game don't work. The default controller sensitivity is insanely high, but don't expect to be able to adjust that as the slider doesn't work with a controller. Once had the game crash trying to use the drop-down menus in the multi-player host screen.

This game is like Phasmaphobia, Resident Evil, and Monster hunter got into a horrible car accident and so the doctors just sort of sewed all the remaining pieces back together. They couldn't find enough to make a whole person so the metaphorical doctors filled in the rest with Unity store default assets.

This game is like a solid 3/10, but I imagine it could be a fun late night with the pals game if it had more time to cook. Keep the $9 you could spend on this game, spend it on Taco Bell you'll get more enjoyment out of it and it'll be a higher quality product.

It feels like playing one of the old Heroes of Might and Magic games in the best possible ways. The overworld feels just so natural, the heroes feel fun to upgrade, it just all works. Its one of those games that makes you feel nostalgic for something that never really existed.

Probably the most heart I've ever seen in a video game. Or, you know, the opposite of heart. The one where everyone's a smarmy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who talks in nothing but insulting one liners. So you know, a game where everyone talks like me. Needless to say it's pretty magical.

It's like a hot blast of nostalgia directly into your nether regions... even if you're like me and never played the game when you were younger. You can summon mythical units, have citizens shoot nonsense fake words at you, and... other cool stuff.

Buy the game. Seriously bro. Do it. DO EEET. DO EET NAAOOOW.

For people who thought the Stanley Parabole made too much sense...

Just buy it. Do it. Everyone needs to experience this level of Nazi-killing and melodrama.
