TLDR follows.

The more I play this the less I understand why this is not widely spoken game. It has some of that Battle for Middle Earth 2 feeling to it as far as the RTS goes. Light and easy to understand. As for the RPG aspect of the game, it has more depth to it. A lot of speech, which are fully narrated by the way by relatively good voice actors, and rich lore to go with. The campaign is lengthy but in a good way as there is a lot of content. At the time of writing this I have 65 hours in the game, and I feel like I am only midway trough. granted, I like to seek every little detail and artifact and I tend to get lost in the amazing scenery from time to time.

Switching between RPG and RTS felt strange since I had never played anything like this and the transitions are made so smooth that you hardly notice it at first. But after a while I got used to it and now it makes perfect sense, so much so that it feels almost strange that there isn't more games like this.

The story feels like I am in charge. I am not sure if that is true, since I have yet to finish the game, but at least the immersion of choice is made believable. The choices I make in actions or voice lines seem to affect the environment. Sometimes it makes me sad that the choices I made didn't result in the outcome I was aiming for, but I rarely feel like my choices didn't matter at all.

You can make your party a group of demigods. With correct items and skills combined, the four man party can be close to immortal army slaying war machine. While this feels fun when looking from the RPG side, it totally wrecks the RTS. I have played two missions where the opposing army was too strong for my RTS abilities, so I started marching straight for the head camp with my hero party, defeating a number of armies on the way. At the same time I felt like a god and an weasel.

Thought there are some bugs in this game. I am not sure if there still are patches coming, but reading the forums at least many of them were fixed after the release. Yet some bugs still linger. Nothing game breaking thought, and most of them seem to fix themselves when advancing on the main quest. Worst bug I encountered was while scouting the map before taking the main mission. I managed to break a minor side quest by killing some site guardians before I triggered the quest. Restarting the level fixed it, but it still cost me about half an hour of playtime. If you want to ensure that you do not break anything, always go straight for the markers with your heroes and do the scouting/adventuring later.

There is also a PvP multiplayer for the RTS and the full campaign can be played in co-op, which is refreshing to see. Too many games go for the massive multiplayer and PvP, while the whole co-op gaming sits there forgotten. I still haven't tested either of there thought since I have no friends who own this game. Yet.

TLDR;

++ Co-op campaign
++ Fully narrated voice lines
++ Impressive graphics/scenery
+ A lot of content
+ Rich lore
+ Choices matter, or at least seem to

+/- Light and easy to understand RTS
+/- RPG and RTS combo feels new
+/- Right items and skills can make your party immortal, taking down whole armies and fortifications. Good for the RPG, bad for the RTS.

-- Some bugs. Some of them are minor and fix themselves and some cost you gaming hours to fix by level restart.
- You can notice when the voice line recording is fixed/added later

RTS tactics game, really simple and fast to learn and thats about all good to say about this game. The Assault Squad 2 is really similiar game to this yet it is far better in every aspect from controlling your troops equipment to AI gameplay. Do you want good WW2 RTS game? Buy AS2 which is almost same to this but cheaper and simply better, altought harder to learn.
