What haven't be said already of this game by this point? the story, the art, the music, the gameplay, its just incredible

What an amazing game, one of the best in the genre and one of the most fun games ive played this year, amazing fluid gameplay, interesting side mechanics and meta progression, really good combat, quite pretty overall, cant recommend it enough, aside from its ok story its pretty hard to find fault with it, looking forward to the updates on 2024

Close to 2025, many updates so far and many more to come, amazing game

Not much to say about this game, its an amazing game, great story, great combat, but still very buggy on pc for me and many people, had easily over 100 crashes, still easily a 9/10 game

What an amazing game, its almost unbelievable that this was made by a small indie team, the game is enourmous, the game is kinda slow but fun, story can be hit and miss sometimes but personally i love how its written and how much the devs goes into the side characters stories, overall one of the best games in the genre

Soooo... disgaea 5... been postponing doing this review for some time now, i was pretty torn even though i dont care about the missing stuff, but the devs attitude really almost made me give this game a thumbs down, but whatever, lets just review the game

for people who actually played any other disgaea game ever and liked it... short answer, this one is the best one so far, lots of better and more... well, everything, so if you want more and better disgaea, it is here

For those who just came from under a cave and have no idea what the heck disgaea is and happens to stumble onto this review (doubt that will ever happen but lets keep going) disgaea 5, or any disgaea for that matter is a tactics game wich focus on grinding and ridiculous ammount of content and stuff to do... really, theres like a bazillion mechanics in this game, a first time player might take over 50 hours just to get through the main story (the real game here starts after it really), while a veteran that knows what they are doing can do it in a few hours (or 1 hour if youre speedrunning and knows what is what) you want to lvl to 9999? sure go do it... and then reincarnate because youre still a noob, want a good item, well, good for you, theres a lot of them, and you can lvl them to lvl 500 and give it some ridiculous bonuses and get crazy stats, anyway, lots of content, lots of stuff to do, thats for sure
doing a quick review over everything... port is pretty good (missing online features but everything else is just perfect), sound... oh boy... the english voice acting is just all over the place, i have no idea what was going on there, some voice actors just sound like they are reading a cake recipe while they should be emotional, but thankfully you do have the option to just change to the much better japanese voices... soundtrack is pretty darn good, aside from one or 2 really obnoxious tracks, but you can fiddle with all that in game, so yea, on the technical side this game is great
Now... not everything is perfect on the netherworlds, nonono plip, theres some questionable stuff here, and aside from some really very bad moments the game tries to be funny and failes miserably the story is actually quite decent for a disgaea game, BUT... this game suffers from the same thing the entire series does, and this is prolly what will determine if youre gonna love or hate it... ill just say it... the game has absolutely no challenge (unless you handicap yourself in some way and make a challenge or some stuff, that doesnt count really), the problem here is the game is absurdly easy, if you cant beat something its not because its hard... you just dont have the right stats, yea sure, you can spend an hour thinking on some team combos, do some tower attacks, some clever throwing or something to beat higher difficulty stuff... or spend 5 minutes lvling and steamroll it... and thats disgaea in a nutshell really, so if you like grinding, lots of stuff to do, ridiculous damages and combos and crazy stuff happening... this game is for you, if you look for challenge, eeeh, maybe go look somewhere else
With all that said, i love the game, i miss the challenge sure, but thats my style of gaming, the game is great for what it is and it really delivers on what its set out to deliver

quite possibly one of the best total war games released on the last decade, a really dangerous game for those with "one more turn" syndome... great game
