The infantry combat overhaul has been controversial. If you are a new player looking to buy, then it definitely doesn't worth the "Mostly Negative" rating, which on Steam really only is reserved for truly broken game or anti-consumer practice, which the ICO update is not.

Great DLC, really something different this time. Typical UoC scenario will have you either crack open or flank a largely static opponent. In Moscow 41, the German still have great offensive potential and they will launch fierce attack into your line instead of localized counter attack at your exposed unit. Expect to lose a lot more units than you are used to. On the flip side, you have massive budget and often given huge pile of free reinforcement to build and reconstitute your forces in each scenario. Though careful unit husbandry is still key, you'll need fully decked out elite unit eventually in the campaign.

Best writing in a video game. Easily unseats Planescape. Really funny and just plain great writing. Innovative skill system and great art and voice direction.

Eugen's best SP effort yet. Though the tactical AI is simply too predictable for someone who played since Wargame, however it'll provide new comer plenty of challenge.

MP is also quite good with pacing closer to Wargame. Actually I'd say it's basically Wargame without helicopter and ATGM and less need for recon. I quite enjoyed it.

A neat alternative view from an interseting perspective of Operation Barbarosa, the invasion of Soviet Union by Nazi Germany. Balance operation requirement and the whim of political leaders. Lots of interesting and meaningful decisions to make along the way. Also surprisingly easy to play despite its look. I'd say the complexity is about the same as Hearts of Iron.

Contagion是以前一個叫Zombie Panic的模組延伸成的遊戲
模組時代的特色就是1v多的設計,一開始生存者很多但只有一個殭屍
隨著生存者一個一個死掉,殭屍變得越來越多,最後生存者終於被淹沒
(好吧通常是因為整個關卡的子彈都被打完了)
Contagion變成比較注重合作,主要模式(Escape)一開始沒有玩家操作的殭屍
但是保留死掉的玩家會變成殭屍的設定

Contagion的殭屍不具特殊能力
完全是傳統不會跑但是只有大腦被破壞才能殺死的殭屍
但是反面來說玩家的腳色基本上也只是正常人,沒有什麼特殊技能
實際上玩家的腳色連免疫都沒有,被殭屍抓傷或被咬到都可能會造成感染
而感染的致死率是絕對的

這產生的效果就是Contagion是市場上少數還把自己當恐怖遊戲看的殭屍遊戲
玩家的腳色沒有任何特殊能力,敵人很多,彈藥很少
近戰武器使用上有很高的危險性而且...常常根本也不會找到多少近戰武器
遊戲靠黑暗和狹窄的環境來打造充滿壓力的氣氛
就算是最輕微的傷勢都可能會致命

另外一個特色是Hunted模式
Hunted模式是Contagion的對戰模式
玩家的目標是成為最後一個生存的活人
地圖上有很多的武器和彈藥,但是每個死掉的玩家都會變成殭屍,
此外場上仍然有NPC殭屍而且對槍聲非常敏感
地圖通常很複雜,有很多可以躲藏和埋伏的地方
隨著玩家被獵殺殭屍開始變得越來越多,殭屍的威脅性越來越大
有時最後兩個生存者都被困在完全不同的地方被一堆殭屍攻擊,誰能夠撐比較久誰就能贏

Contagion最大的缺點就是...無限的迷路
不管是活人還是死人,大多玩家80%的時間都是處於迷路和卡關的狀態
每個階段的目標常常會寫一些很大略的方向,但是實際要怎麼執行常常不是很清楚
就算知道目標(例如找鑰匙),常常也要找很久才找的到 (永遠在你隊友說他翻過的房間)
或說叫你要去某個地方,但是你根本不知道那在哪裡的情況常常出現
而且地圖不是線性的,常常會需要折返到之前的點....總之,活人很容易迷路

那死人更慘,死人連現在活人要去哪裡都不知道
如果不熟悉地圖的路線和流程,用槍聲和腳印提示找到活人都有點困難
即使你完全知道怎麼走,死人的重生點其實離活人現在的位置通常有相當的距離
(當然,這有平衡考量,打玩家操作的殭屍很耗彈藥,而每張地圖上的子彈都是有限的)
這部分...我想應該會有些人感覺悶

結論, 現在殭屍遊戲都要搞很多花樣, 要有合成系統,要開放世界,殭屍要會一堆特異功能,玩家也要會跑酷,要吃喝拉撒睡, 然後要能強迫別人喝漂白水...但有時候你想要的只是5年前的殭屍遊戲風格,那Contagion就是2015仍然是這樣玩的遊戲

有潛力成為今年合作類動作遊戲最棒的作品
硬要說缺點就是優化不是很好
畫面雖然不會難看但是同樣是畫面上噴一堆血和肉塊的KF2畫面比較好卻更流暢
