This is yet another game that wears another game's name as its skin and poses as a sequel.
No modding, gameplay loop is entirely different, melee combat feels worse than ever with no feedback and abysmal stamina, zombies get attracted to you even if you made no noise.
On top of that numerous server and technical issues at the time of its EA release makes this one of the worst experiences I've had this year. Torn Banner bought up the original game's devs, they all left and now they made this...
Also - borderline epileptic animation when you die is a horrible choice.

I blame that greasy bastard Randy for ruining yet another franchise.

Up there with FromSoft all-time classics. Masterfull world design, enchaning OST and more importantly - even more fun toys to use on new (and old) enemies.
Having beaten the DLC and all the optional bosses I will admit - a few of them feel just a bit overtuned. Even at 19 Scadutree upgrade levels it sometimes feels like you arent doing enough damage and take too much, but im sure this will be ironed out with patches.
What is probably my biggest criticism is the map, and just how messy it is. Im not asking for some in-depth 3d wireframe of the whole place, but the ability to switch layers up and down would've been nice, as with the interconnected and tangled world design comes a whole mess of graces and obscured routes.

As mediocre as it was on release.
Look, i get that PayDay 3 didnt turn out as people hoped it would be, but this isnt it.
The only unique selling point, the rouglelike city conquest mode, is a boring slog with time wasting missions, terrible acting and laggy and convoluted UI elements. Playing it on a hard drive is also hair-pulling - you spend more time in loading screens than in some mission types.
Performance is spotty - even with FSR 3 I was experiencing slowdowns and frame dips, on a rig thats between recommended and minimal specs. With how small these maps are this is still an issue.
Gunplay feels as stock UE as you can get - guns are too close to the screen and lack any kind of modifications outside of just using the higher tier ones with pre-installed mods.
Movement feels wrong - actual walking speed is slow, yet a slide from just a second of sprinting will send you flying across the floor.
There is no build variety or armor - at most you'll get perks for increased health and so on. Perks are tied to characters you have to randomly unlock.
The crewmates you get are insufferable, both in terms of writing and voice acting, making me turn off the voice volume ASAP.
Enemy AI is dumb as rocks - either standing in place or mindlessly walking at you. There are little to no special enemies to speak of.
Friendly AI loves to get stuck in place or stand in the open soaking up damage. At least they can bag loot.
Most maps are small and basic, with not enough interesting RNG elements to distract you on repeated runs.
A lot of the content is locked behind DLC, wic is thankfully free atm, but seeing that tag all over the weapon screen in the campaign shows how quickly you could break the game with it if you chose to use them. Without these free DLC this game will feel incredibly empty and limited.

One of the best Survial/Exploration games out there. Well-executed premise, solid progression and plethora of content this early on makes me yearn to see whats next!

As fun as this game can be at the moment its technical state is abysmal.
I've not had a single session where something hasnt gone wrong or boke:
- Crashes
- Disconnects
- Falling through the world
- Various jank with enemies and their animations
- Incorrect kill source
- UI bugging out
- Broken lobbies
- Not being able to join/be joined by anyone untill i'd mess with my router settings.
... and so much more.
Every update seems to be bringing in more and more of these issues. Untill devs can sort them out i'd stay away, unless you're really itching to see what the hype is about.
