I love this game, but I must join with those who say AVOID the Director's Cut. The original game is there as a DLC and is miles better. The new bits add little and the original parts seem to have been amateurishly hacked about and simplified. Sure there's less trotting back and forth but some of the puzzles have been so simplified as to hardly be there at all. Also it seems to me (playing the original after completing the Director's Cut) that a lot of dialogue and animation has been cut, e.g. all of George's reaction shots. Some cut scenes stop suddenly, leaving out vital parts of the scene. Also I see far more detail in the animation when it's full screen than in its compressed new version. Did you spot the hotel reception guy taking cotton wool out of his ears because of the piano playing? I didn't until I played the old version. The templars meeting in the cave doesn't seem to be animated at all. Even the new map is horrible. I don't get it; they've added to the game but kind of ruined it at the same time.

Dang - downloaded this on a whim and have just played it for nearly 3 hours. Very addictive and a hell of a lot of fun

Amazing, and I'm only a short way into it. Similar in many ways to Stanley, it's a game of exploration and surprises. A review I read said the various levels were slow and rough-looking but I love their abstract nature, the sudden switches of environment and the use of space. It's by turns fascinating, funny, intriguing and even a little scary. Anyone interested in games, game development or design will enjoy it.
