Nekopara Vol. 0 is something like a standalone expansion to Vol. 1. This takes place before Vol. 1, before Kashou moved to open the bakery. There's no real central plot, it's just showcasing an average day in the Minaduki's house.

You might of noticed it's only 3 dollars. Real cheap, but that means it's very short. I read the whole thing in less than an hour, so keep that in mind.

It's cute, silly, lighthearted fun with all the characters performing their daily activites they would normally do; make food, going out, etc etc. Chocola and Vanilla aren't really the main stars anymore as all 6 of the catgirls share the spotlight now, making sure they all have their moments within the story, along with Shigure from time to time. Kashou isn't even in the story, so he's not focused on at all. While it may seemed pretty cramped to try to focus on 6 characters, you really do get to see the personalities of all the catgirls shine in one way or another, and you really get a feel for them more, certainly more than you saw in Vol. 1 (Besides Chocola and Vanilla, they kind of took a backseat) Basically, it's still got the nice writing and tone that the last one had, if you liked Vol. 1, you'll feel right at home here.

So overall, Vol. 0 is a really short but sweet experience that gives you more to read if you wanted to have more Nekopara. If you haven't played Vol. 1 yet, go pick this up first since it's cheaper and you can get an idea of all the characters and how they are.
