Most mixed reviews are coming from online multiplayer server issues on launch, not because it's a bad game. I haven't seen/heard many, if any, gripes with the core gameplay. IT IS NOT AN ALWAYS-ONLINE GAME. There is a fully accessible offline mode with global chat, as well as a fully-offline launch option. There are also mechanics in-game to incentivize & reward players doing SSF (solo, self-found items only). Server issues are currently still a thing but improving day by day (day 5 after launch?). Most players seem to be pretty stable, with some disconnects/lag spikes. Some regions still have major difficulties. The devs are working hard to remedy issues and have been communicating with the players extensively as they work on resolving these issues.

The game overall is f***ing awesome, the core mechanics are sound and the combat is legitimately fun. They seem to have taken all the stuff I love from every other big-name ARPG out there and melded it all into one, and the attention to detail behind every little system really shows. It all melds together nicely to create a really fulfilling, rewarding, and fun experience that will make you completely lose track of time.

Classes & skills are diverse and unique but offer a ton of synergy and viability no matter what build you want to run. The skill tree is similar to PoE but smaller and more manageable in scope. Skills you put on your bar show tags to clearly indicate what they scale with, so it's easy to theorycraft your own stuff and actually get it to be effective. The passive tree is very similar to Grim Dawn, linear arcs of passive abilities that offer pretty significant bonuses to main stats or skills. You feel the difference every time you put a point or two into a new node, and that feels awesome.

I haven't played all the classes but combat on the two I have played feels responsive and weighty. What I noticed most was that cooldowns and timers on buffs/debuffs are actually rather short overall, which makes combat feel more engaging and like you're actually making decisions and taking actions more often than not to keep the ball rolling.

Itemization is cool, affixes on items are fairly standard to the genre overall, but some just feel really good and the selection of affixes offers a ton of possibilities. You can make very well-balanced builds or completely stack certain stats at the expense of others. Both approaches work equally well in their own regard. The crafting system is almost a necessity, but no in the way that it is in PoE. It gives you the power to take what might seem like a mundane drop and turn it into a powerhouse piece of gear in your build quite easily. It makes staying geared during leveling pretty easy.

There is a really well thought-out system for Loot Filters included directly into the game, and 3rd party tools that allow you to plan builds and generate a loot filter specifically for that build quite easily. This is really powerful and makes gearing properly a breeze. There are factions you can choose (and swap between if really needed, although with repurcussions) that will either benefit SSF characters vs. online characters with access to buying/selling with other players. There are systems that allow you to target farm certain areas/bosses for gear specific to them, as well as blessings that will allow you to boost drops/"magic find" for specific slots of gear. It works really well.

Campaign story/plot isn't a strong-suit of the game tbh. I found most of it a little dull (or at select points a little cringe) although there were some highlights of beautiful scenery, badass boss fights with pretty cool mechanics, and some cool plot twists that made me think I should probably start paying attention more. Environments are diverse and the pace of leveling through the campaign is about as perfect as it can get. It's fast, but not too fast that you're outgearing or exceeding the level of areas by much. It feels very smooth.

Endgame is a little limited in options at the moment, but there is plenty of replayability and a significant loot ladder to climb that will keep you occupied for quite a while. Alts are encouraged as build diversity is amazing.

All in all, I'd give it a 9.5/10, 8.5/10 with server stability problems considered. One of the best games I've picked up in years and has reignited my love for the genre. I see myself playing Last Epoch for quite a long time to come.

I played few games that I've dumped thousands of hours into because I loved them so much, but NONE have done what RDR2 does for me. The game is magical. The graphics and scenery are superb, and really help you get lost in the game -- although there are some wild and wacky moments that remind you that you are indeed playing GTA: Wild West.

At the point of writing this review, I'm only about 65 hours of playtime in -- I'm not even through 30% of the story. I've spent entire nights of playtime just camping in the sticks with my faithful steed, hunting food for the night and collecting pelts to sell to fund my fashion addiction. I played poker with some local ranchers in whatever farm-town I happened to offload my pelts at. Later on, I found a group of confederates hiding in the woods -- a handful of which had jumped me at a saloon earlier that day -- so I brutally slaughtered them all with a buck knife one by one. Of course, I had to unwind from all that chaos with a quiet little fishing trip.

Beyond the incredible open world activities available to you at any and all times, the story is fantastic. The characters you interact with feel like real people with deep pasts and intricate personalities. I often found myself conflicted about whether or not I love/hate some of the other characters around me, and even Mr. Morgan himself. There's sort of an overarching moral dilemma about the whole situation Arthur is in that really makes the plot an emotional roller coaster where I just want to keep seeing what happens next 1) because the missions are fun as hell, and 2) because I want to learn/understand more.

If you haven't played this game, you need to. It will raise your standards forever. If you have played this, I think it might be time to give it another spin.

I don't know how to feel about this game. It's free and doesn't feel terribly pay 2 win, however if you want variety in the MOBA-style character choice, you need to spend a LOT of time playing, or fork over some cash. I did buy the ultimate starter pack which gives 5 basic characters, 2 cases (much like CS:GO) that contain loadout cards. Which are basically trading cards that define your 3 perks, the guns you use, and the fancy skin you wear. It's different and feels like unnecessary RNG but collecting the cards is pretty cool.

However, much like MOBAs there are rotations of free playable characters for 2 weeks at a time, whether you have them unlocked or not. Originally it was pretty random, but now they try to offer one of each type of class (Soldier, engineer, medic/support) per rotation to offer at least a slight chance at a decent team composition in random games. However, some combinations just seem ridiculous. This week is Snipers, Mini-gun toting heavies, and Turret-camping engineers. And there's lots of 'em. It makes it nearly impossible to enjoy a game when the moment you step foot towards an objective a wall of Rhinos (the heavy character) comes out and they all turn you into swiss cheese in a second flat. Some things need rebalancing, there's only 2 game modes and about 5-6 maps I believe. There's not much to the game now.

It seems like a very decently put together frankenstein of decent features in a lot of other games, but it just doesn't feel like its pushing any boundaries. I want to say 6.5 but I'll give it a 7/10 because it is quite fun when you get a team that work together. But very few do.

The best $60 I've spent. This game offers SO MUCH content for the money, it's ridiculous. Not only is the campaign challenging and pretty interesting, but the multiplayer game modes that come stock with Arma are a blast. But on top of this, it has incredible mod support where players have literally created their own new maps, brought maps like Chernarus from the original Day Z mod, added weapons that weren't in the game via Bohemia's addition, vehicles, enemies, etc. It is incredible. Whatever you want to do, as long as it's in the realm of guns or cars, there's a f**king mod out there for it. And that alone makes it worth full price, any time. This game makes all AAA titles charging $60 + more for DLC look like ♥♥♥♥.

If you think you can hang and stay aware of your surroundings, buy A3. It's fantastic.

Oh, Warframe.

It's a pretty one of a kind game, I can't really say there are any downsides with the actual game, but there are some annoying mechanics that are kind of on the side from the core gameplay experience.

First of all, the game's gorgeous if you can run it with everything maxed out. Just beautiful. And there is a lot of content to do. But it does get repetitive. Although, it's kind of relaxing (just like many people find grindy asian mmos relaxing or the grind of diablo relaxing) just running around slaughtering hundreds upon hundreds of aliens and robots mindlessly. doing parkour jumps off ♥♥♥♥ like the badass space ninja cowboy you are. It's a fast-paced, shoot 'em up, hack n' slash with a tinge of card-collecting (your "mods" that modify your gameplay and your abilities). The group gameplay is fun. If you've got 1-3 buddies to team up with and chat over skype or something, do some of the higher-end content and have a blast and get sweet loot.

They've recently been putting out a lot more content than they did when I played, but most of my friends have clocked out of their time playing this game so I don't see myself returning for very long if I do. They've added new characters to play, new maps, new quests, etc. The developers are great, very close to the community (have a casual conversation with them on reddit, maybe even in-game!) and they really do love their game and try to push it forward and keep it relevant and I'd say they're doing a great job.

By far one of the coolest games I've ever played. Not many war games give the player a new and unfamiliar setting (most WW2 based games just take place in Germany, or Russia), so the concept of being in North Africa in SE3 was super appealing to me. Once I got into the game, I really loved the environments and the graphics that made them come to life. The colors, while desert-based, were vibrant and made me want to look around. The game is beautiful, no doubt. Moreso, the actual gameplay, the mechanics, the HUD, are all top-notch and extremely polished. The gameplay is fluid, tactical, and makes you think about the routes you want to take. But if you want to go rambo, you can. Good luck though!

I've only gotten a little bit of play time in but am thoroughly impressed already, and can't wait to continue the campaign and dabble in multiplayer.

I've dumped about 13 hours so far into this game, and I am loving it. I came here from Diablo 3, as endgame in D3 got stale and the rewarding feeling of getting epic loot went away for me. Path of Exile's skill system was overwhelming but such a pleasant surprise for me as I LOVE theorycrafting fun builds. The graphics aren't bad and the environments are beautiful and dark and immersive. It also gives you a total sense of freedom and you play how you desire. Some builds are more end-game viable than others but that does not mean you can't have your fun as you level a few chars and learn whats good and whats not. But the realy selling point: IT'S FREE. PLAY THIS GAME. NAOOOO.

I don't know how I've come to log 200+ hours on this game. It is fantastic. The art style, the lore, the ES universe is amazing. But the story is lackluster. Good vs. evil dragons, being the chosen one... it's all a little rehashed. Only a handful of dungeons truly feel new and interesting, progression is a bit broken (you can pretty much craft iron daggers a million times to max your blacksmithing then craft the best armor by level 10)... The biggest thing for me is that it is a massive place you are in, Skyrim. But you are the only one who is really there. Without mods, you can only take 1 companion/follower with you. Things get lonely. Very quiet, very uneventful, very boring. Some people like that. I don't. still, 7.5/10.

Early Access Review
Although the game is early access, it is one of the most enjoyable works-in-progress I have ever experienced.

This is not your typical survival game. Instead of focusing on the horror aspect like many other zombie survival games, or the military aspect which its predecessor (Arma 2 + Day Z MOD) chose to build around, DayZ standalone seeks to evoke a sense of dread & doom via battling the elements and bad luck while avoiding the living dead, borderline psychotic players of the bandit lifestyle, and glitchy ladders and walls. While there is much work to be done, no game truly holds a candle to the feeling you get in a Day Z firefight, or when you're dying of hypothermia/starvation/blood loss.

A little over 100 hours on record and every gun fight that occurs has me holding my breath, 5 inches from my monitor, heart beating out of my chest. So much fun even with all the bugs and lack of direction, but also an incredible amount of potential. Every addition and update has me excited to play again, and they only get more frequent.

Hands down my favorite game of all time. There is something so amazing by how basic yet vast the mechanics and combat in this game are. Multiplayer demands skill, awareness, tactics as glitches/bugged spots/indestructible cover are limited to non-existent. In its hey-day the community was strong, mature, and fun-loving. Those still remain although new Battlefield games have stolen the masses (not necessarily deserving of them). The campaign is hilarious, epic, and outright fun.

In all honesty, probably the last GREAT Battlefield game. The franchise has gone downhill since. BFBC2 was GREAT. BF3 was GOOD. BF4 is mediocre, and the future isn't exactly bright for the franchise. if you want the legit experience, pick up BC2 & Battlfield 2
