A wealthy business man takes a vacation from his stressful life to one of his many beach houses. Every morning he takes a pleasant walk back and forth along the beach. One day he sees a poor man walking on the same beach, after several times of passing each other he asks "Hello sir, what do you do for a living?"

"I'm a fisherman, I fish for 4 hours a day and thats enough for me to survive"

"Well if you fished 8 more hours you could make more money"

"Then what? "Then you could eventually buy another boat and hire someone to help you" "Then what?" "Then you'd make even more money and could get more ships and employees" "Then what?

"Then you can have an entire shipyard and become a wealthy business man"

"Then what?" "Then you can buy a big house on the beach" "Then what? "Then every so often you can take a vacation from your busy life and walk on the beach"

"Then what am I doing right now?"



I am similar to a flightless dodo, as the dodo can't fly neither can I maybe its because of the way my wings are shaped, or the shape of my body, or the inner firings of the individual neurons in my mind. I believe it's because our mind tells us that we can't. What if a dodo tried to fly instead of being in a predetermined state of mind that it can't fly? I want to fly away to a place where I choose the rules. A place where I can play god for a second. A place where botox and powder on a face doesn't make it anymore beautiful than the sheer beauty of bareness. As the dodo looks across to another island with others, it wonders if there are any other dodo's looking back at it, but in reality no other dodo's are looking for a way to fly to another island because all they care about is their small world where survival and the protection of species prioritizes all, they know they can't fly therefore never try. When we turn our backs on things like bullying, and unspeakable acts by countries, it makes me wonder if I am actually the dodo that is looking at the other island, or the selfish dodo looking at its food.
