Alan Wake is considered a "Psychological Thriller" and aptly named at that. While not specifically scary, it borrows horror elements and intertwines them with a complex, thought provoking, and interesting story. While combat is relatively repetative, Alan Wake more than compensates with its intriguing narrative.
