Buggy game with lots of game breaking illogical game mechanics that make warfare completely ridiculous and frustrating. 1/10 Stars. Horrible. DO NOT BUY!

Player: Starting as Prussia, formed Super Germany, 700 million GDP, most of South America and 1/3rd of East Asia as Puppet states, controlling 1/3 of all of Africa, Technoogically ahead of every Nation.

Ai does not tick down until their capital city is taken, but player ticks down

Here is what i did (TWICE), two times I de-facto am about to defeat France holding a significant part of their terriory once even their capital city. First time they refuse to tick down to zero until I got the capital city, despite minimal losses and no territory lost! my nation (Germany) loses war support extremely fast and started ticking down as soon as I begun capturing French territory, whilst France happily stayed at zero. Worse yet, I had hardly lost troops, their losses were 6-7 times mine and my losses were 0,125% of my population (around 125k). Why would it tick down?! Full coffers, high living standard (19+), reasonable taxes.

AI uses Revolution to retake their lost land (during the war)
Second time, same thing, they lose no war support, I start losing war support (despite holding lots of French core territory) but at a pace slower than my advance so I would have taken ALL of France before ticking down to -99. However this time France decides to just "default win" by doing a Revolution, which immediately retakes all the captured territory that I have been holidng, removes ALL the Frontlines so i CANT even fight at all.

Attacking France (and getting close to winning) is the TRIGGER for the revolution. So France CAN NOT EVER be defeated. Afterall going to war against them destabilizes their country, I sank their massive fleet, made them poor and miserable so they revolt. Great.

They only had one war goal against me that my population does not care about. Maybe if they had set war goals to capture my territory, my people would not just give up so easily. This is not okay as a game mechanic.

BUG:
Not only did I have to conted with this crap, no worse yet, the game crashed both times in both wars whenever Russia (who was fighting me together with France) surrendered. All the troops on both fronts including active fronts are automatically sent home to their HQ when Russia surrenders, which means I had to manually tell my troops to get back to the French front and fight. Both times it crashed.

Fleet convoy raiding is broken: the AI can use a fleet of only 2 units (on one node) to sink 20000 convojs within minutes of the war starting, whilst my fleets only ever sink 100-4500 convoys at once despite being huge fleets.

Fleet node system is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. (In general and not just in this war)

You can not stop the AI from landing troops to an existing front by sea even if those troops travel by fleet past your own fleet. The AI can supply their troops just fine despite the players fleet sitting right there on their ONLY supply line.
All fleets can safely pass trough each other! (WTF). If you have your fleet set to intercept, the enemy fleets can just sail straigh past them smiling and waving and sail to the next sea node and instantly evaporate all your convoys. They can also do this to your convoys even if you sit there defending the sea node. Only if you have a fleet at the sea node set to protect convoys (not intercept) will they struggle a small bit with it. For all this it does not matter that you have a fleet of 200 ships sitting in the english channel. No they do not care they sail huge armies right past you and massive amounts of convoys. Other games like Total War series had intercept ranges and the ability to block spots at sea decades ago. You just put your fleet at Gibraltar or into the English channel and nobody can pass you without fighting you. No fleets, no troops and all convoys get raided leaving. And they already did this in the very old TW games. Very OLD VERY SIMPLE games.

But worse yet: the player HAS to win several naval victories to start a naval invasion. It does not matter that Japan has no fleets and that their allies fleet is on the way but will take several months to arrive because it has to sail all the way from Europe, No despite the sea being void of enemy fleets for thousands and thousands of miles in every direction, your 100 fleet ship has to wait for the enemy tiny fleet to finally arrive and be defeated. Then once you have defeated them once, you need to wait a few months again before their next tiny fleet arrives. Each time you win you make minimal progress. Wars easily take 3 years for the most basic things for that reason.

You would think that a logical programmer would decide that you can naval invade within a few days as soon as the local NAVAL NODE and not THE ENTIRE GLOBAL WORLD is free of enemy fleets. World war 2 took 6 years and had many naval invasions. The battle for Normandy lasted only 12 weeks. D-Day took less than 2 days to land all the troops. Not months not years. DAYS. Naval invasions are almost instant as soon as you control the sea.

This game is just horribly badly designed.
I would rate this game 1 Star. They should give us cheat codes to use as workarounds to get around the bugs. Or just disable Revolutions from taking over land that the invading forces are holding! It should HELP me that they revolt, it WOULD help me in a realistic scenario! The revolt is basically their population giving up and deserting THEIR war effort, yet it makes THEM win and me lose.

Edit: The bug reporting screen after a crash works 1/20 times most times producing an error so reporting a bug is not possible. YES the GAME IS THAT broken. Even the bug reporting screen is buggy.

This game is highly addicting. Quit your job, divorce your wife, adopt away your kids, you new life is now cities skylines!. .. Though only with mods because without those it becomes rather frustrating as the AI does not do logical things. For example the industries DLC is basically broken until you get a mod that allows you to tell buildings to supply each other and actually make the supply chain work as intended. In the unmodded game none of the components actually work together. For example even in a tiny farm the fields will not supply your flour mills even if they are right beside them, instead they will import grains to the mills and export from the fields, the fields then can't operate because all their trucks are gone on long out of town trips. If you put down a silo meant as a buffer or a warehous the issues just get worse as these just start moving stuff around mostly exporting grains to everywhere whilst sometimes importing as well completely disregarding local needs or production. The same can be said about the traffic in general as the AI can't use multi lane roads and will often stick to one lane only. The AI also can't evancuate into shelters effectively in the disasters DLC so that DLC is basically useless except for when you purposely drop meteors onto your city to kill everyone or can wait a week or two for your citizens to finish all their tasks and their work weeks as they apparently only go into shelters in their spare time. Seems their bosses insist they keep on working..

Anyway with mods enabled you can turn this hot mess into the best city builder i know of.
