One of, if not the, best games ever made. The balance between intensely fighting off hordes of enemies and barely coming away with your life and relaxing mining and resource collection is an immaculate and well-honed mixture that incorporates all of my favorite video game mechanics into one perfect package, and that's not to mention the excellent customizability of weapons and playstyles.

After being introduced to roguelikes pretty much through this game only, and trying out a number of other shooter roguelikes, no game has yet to top the time I've spent with Gunfire Reborn, even the more well-respected entries such as Enter The Gungeon. The basic gameplay of gathering scrolls and ascensions and honing your build as you start to see the direction that it is going is more fun in Gunfire than in any other roguelike, and the number of unique weapon concepts it features tops any other FPS game, period. Killing enemies is incredibly satisfying, especially when you get a great build and see only purple and red lucky shot numbers or have insane amounts of AoE damage and are able to wipe an entire room of enemies at once. Even in its pre-release state, Gunfire Reborn is one of my favorite games of all time-certainly my favorite roguelike of all time-and with the soon-to-be-released 1.0 patch and the amount of new content that will be added, I can see it climbing even closer to the top of my overall rankings.

EDIT: 1.0 has absolutely exceeded my expectations, the new character and 4th Act especially are excellent.
