~ ~ ~ UPDATED REVIEW ~ ~ ~
The game, while doing better than it was on its initial release, still can't be recommended. In its current form, you're better off playing PD2.
The game is mostly playable now, but still suffers from the occasional server time out or hard-locking bug that can end a heist at any point (including the literal fade out to extraction sequence).

When the game does function as intended, there just isn't much there. The entire 8-mission campaign can be completed in a couple of hours of stealth, and likely within 1-2 hours if you go loud. Stealth has some added complexity from PD2, with new mission requirements like transporting managers or different difficulty multiplying challenges. Some of these are genuinely good and the reworked stealth generally feels really good by giving the player more flexibility while also being more forgiving in a way that still feels good. Some challenges feel like the devs didn't WANT too much praise, as they are arbitrary and blatantly not fun. Such examples being "get signal to hack X" which literally requires the player to idle in a series of small circles scattered around the map for several minutes, not really hard, just not fun.

That being said, there is NO REASON to stealth in this game. You literally lose XP by stealthing, as the XP system is largely dependent on killing cops spawned in raids, so all of the aforementioned goes out the window, and the game becomes a PVE installment of the COD franchise. Gun play feels admittedly good and crispy, but once again suffers from lack of content. Gun mods have been dumbed down to feel much more like a COD attachment system, +/- recoil, +/- damage, +/- animation speed, that's all. Concealment has been entirely removed from the game, so there is reason to plan your loadout, just walk into a jewelry store in full armor with the biggest guns you can carry and no one notices.

There's not much more to be said about the game. It sometimes doesn't work, it has some good aspects, some questionable removal of mechanics, some blatantly bad things, and just not a lot of content.

TLDR: Check on the game in a year or two when the content the game needs is added as DLC. If you don't like the sound of that, save your money.

DO NOT BUY THIS. You quite literally CANNOT play.
Servers aren't functional so you error out of matchmaking or sit in queue for hours and they have no option for offline or P2P connection. It's genuinely unacceptable to release a game that can't be played, let alone charge extra for the expectation to play it early, knowing that people cant't even play on launch day.
