There's nothin like it on the market right now! There were some attempts, sure, but nothing ever got close to Alien Swarm in terms of gameplay, audio and simple yet realistic visual style. Good optimization in games is also almost non-existent these days so the fact that this runs smoothly on ANY rig only adds bonus points to the score.

And gameplay... God, gameplay... I just can't emphasize this enough how well balanced everything is, how responsive controls are and how incredibly well designed maps are (all of them!!). Cmon, even voice-overs are great!!

So basically, guys, if you'd ever make a sequel... You won't even have to change anything in terms of gameplay! Add some details to levels, some weapons, unlocks, throw in a battlepass, some skins and other cosmetics and there you go! An instant hit.

Maybe it would also require to change camera angles a bit, make it more dynamic, some ability to zoom, etc (recent example? partly The Ascent), something like a third person over-the-shoulder mode (because zoomers, simply speaking, top down view aint popular no more). Improving that would let you go against AAA giants basically. Yet again, because GAMEPLAY.

Hell, even bots are there and they're fun!! All the functionality is there, it's incredible!

It's just one of those games that you get lost in. As you get completely immersed in and loose track of time you just have to try to complete that mission one more time and see what goes wrong THIS time.

EVen if you loose (ohhh and this is a big one in my opinion) - it's still fun, it's epic and it's interesting! It's one of those balance aspect that just keeps you playing. And usually these days dying in a video game is either totally insignificant or incredibly painful, almost rogue-like. This game makes it difficult, adds purpose and tactics, so there's still some "fffffuuuu" moments when you die but still! What a game that was, let's do it again, etc etc

So that's yeah, my 2 cents I guess.

Recently we got DOOM remaster (which plays nothing like the original by the way).
Now we got Ha... No, wait. Is that Quake 3 remastered???
No, wait. Feels more like Unreal Tournament...

And for that 8/10.

(minus 2 because consoles and everything that comes with it)

One day I'll probably be able to properly describe this game in all its glory. It's a pretty difficult task, trust me.
All I can say for now...
It has an incredible unique setting/world. It has deep lore, tons of details, it's cruel, unforgiving and incredibly realistic. If you're a post-ap fan - it's a must play (for this one reason alone).
But it's so much more than just that.
I'd say three things for absolutely sure:
1) 12 years in development - you can see it, feel it. Great work has been done (even for a tiny team, it's incredible). A bit rough around the edges but still. It blows my mind what they managed to achieve here with such an old (in fact ANCIENT) engine.
2) I got a feeling from this game that it could've been a MMORPG with huuuge emphasis on base building and RTS elements. With a party system, controlling multiple characters at once. What's also surprising is that it's absolutely unnecessary to play it like an RTS or to have more that one character. Nobody's forcing you to do any of that and it's absolutely 100% playable as a purely one-character RPG game. An old-school RPG of course (think Fallout 1/2, Divinity 2, Baldur's Gate, etc.). Just think about it for a sec...
3) You need mods. I do not recommend using genesis but I do strongly recommend using a "somewhat immersive guns" mod (and couple others, around 10 most popular, got a personal list).
Overall it's a definition of "gameplay first, graphics - second" type of game. And gameplay here is just ... oh boy, you just gotta play it. :D

Absolutely love this game.
One of my favourite single-player games of all time. I mean it's great - both objectively and subjectively. Can't wait for State of Decay 3.

The New L4D (but 10 times better). Enjoying every minute of it.
Online co-op, offline co-op with bots, PvP (omg what) - it's great fun!
Customization, leveling up your character, various calsses, abilities, tons of gear - it's all there!
They even added first person mode... wow just wow...

One of my favourite games, of all time.
Multiplayer was something special, unique, incredibly fun.
Singleplayer - still haven't seen anything like it.
The only bad thing I can say is that Ubisoft really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up with their next game Breakpoint which is such a shame really. There could be a 10/10 sequel to Wildlands but nope. I just hope we'll see a worthy succesor to this epic game some day soon and they won't just abandon this great Wildlands formula.

I let my gf play a level 3 police chase at night and when she finally made it to the garage she literally said: "Holy *** my legs are shaking".

...

There's even a NASCAR track.

...

It's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. Florida/10.

Command, this is Striker-31.
I got positive ID on what looks like one of the best RTS games in more than 2 decades.
How copy.

OMG finally - good REAL TIME warhammer 40k game. No turn based BS, no 2D or any of that ancient pre-hystoric stuff.
F I N A L L Y.
It's pretty good btw, 8/10.
