As a returning player that last played during Forsaken, I'd say it's a good buy. Game is still stable and very well optimized. The new content/season pass approach is somewhat light compared to past DLCs, especially forsaken... however I've put more time in post shadowkeep than all my time pre shadowkeep. There's always something to do or something new to grind for or a different build to try. Speaking of which, Armor 2.0 definitely makes the game much grindier IMHO, however it does make loot drops more purposeful as beforehand once you had a legendary you liked there wasn't really any reason to ever keep another. This changes that up somewhat but it does add some extra (optional) grind. Overall I'd definitely recommend for returning players.

Few bugs here and there but much less than your typical EA or Ubisoft product at launch. Extremely addicting gameplay, varied enemy types, plenty of room for interesting and different builds. Co-op is something of a pain to match for though. The game will throw you into the lowest ping room as fast as possible and it works fine and fast but there is no lobby browser or voice chat. It's easy enough to find a group on discord but it's still something that should have been available at launch. Seems to have a lot of replay value, levels are procedurally generated and follow basic rules for whatever biome/world you're on, but boss spawns do get mixed up and you won't see the same dungeon twice. Each players world that you join for coop is different and upon finishing the game you can do new game+ by "rerolling the campaign". I haven't seen many of the weapons/armors yet but there seems to be plenty of variety in different types and weapon mods can really change gameplay depending on playstyle. Best money I've spent on a game in a really long time.

Bug wise there have been a couple soft freezes (locked on vendor w/ no loss of sound or visuals) that fix themselves after about a minute, and I haven't had any hard crashes or severe frame drops/stutter.

This is basically just old school unreal tournament... which is completely and totally fine and I'm very happy with my purchase. Sometimes you don't need to reinvent the wheel, sometimes you just want a newer, shinier wheel. There are a lot of nay sayers about the "free" version. The "free" version is called such because it's actually just a demo but they couldn't put just a demo on steam as-is so they're essentially skirting the rules. I played the free version first and decided to pony up the whopping $11 whatever for the full game. If you're on the fence just try the free version, it isn't a free to play game so the free version is intended solely to get you into a couple matches to gauge how you like it. Matchmaking worked perfectly fine for me on both versions as well.

Feels like an improvement over the last one in my opinion. I was worried after seeing all the negative reviews regarding performance, but I've had a solid 70fps on a gtx 1080 and i5 4690k. The fps isn't as high as one would expect from this game, but I'm running it on nearly all ultra settings except msaa is at 4x, and and shadow ultra options were turned down to high.
