"Is this game relevant to you?"
> Cyberpunk 2077

Now this might be better than Cyberpunk 2077!

Why Steam? This is not what I was expecting :(

Was looking for a brainless game to play after spending 30 minutes on Minecraft's GT:NH modpack, and this hits the spot. From the creepy cutscenes and story to being able to re-enact those sick old-school MW2 terminal trickshots somewhat (there is no correlation here, roll with it) by skating and mashing every button on your keyboard, this game has got you covered!

In all seriousness, one of my most beloved features in rhythm games is the ability to import custom songs without needing to "map" it (Audica meh, Beatsaber? not even the modders can save this, and particularly looking at you osu!). Add your song, cut the slow-paced intros, and you're ready to start moving around like spiderman or a cheater in copypastes of Counter Strike (wait maybe that is just counter strike in general).

Got my money's worth in the 2 hours I played, will probably add more when I'm not as brainless. Even if the game may seem somewhat repetitive, I mean it's an hours pay (in Australia, at least).

okay bye

I have been waiting the last 5 years for this.

I cleared my debt and spent everything on engine parts. I then proceeded to get back into debt, used that money on 2 high wager bets, cleared my debt and bought more engine parts.

10/10. I love this.

The originals on Steam play better with third-party multiplayer integration than this colossal waste of effort. The PS2 runs it better against bots and I had A LOT more fun trying to play on an almost two-decade old console than this 2024 disappointment.

I considered keeping it just for the non-existent nostalgia and potential modding, but realised I am still better off with the original releases. I usually keep games I dislike but this? I might cry.

I don't think I should be writing this review considering I've only played 40 minutes of it but, here I go.

The controls and mechanics are just plain horrible. Sure, you can rebind them, but most games follow the exact same control mapping as others; essentially allowing you to just jump straight into it and you'll probably only edit your sensitivity. A great example of this which was plain annoying was reaching the settings page in-game. I can go on and on about how terrible the controls are and complain about the default controls (Jumping is X? Sprinting/dashing is left control?? Attacking is Q and E (or R, don't remember). Also, turns out the options key is M???

On top of this, you can't even change the graphics in game. In order to change them, you will have to use the only 1 quit setting which is to quit to desktop and re-launch... On the other hand, the combat mechanics are just stupid. For example, in the "tutorial" fight, you cannot damage the Administrator while they are using skills. Also, blocking is pointless as it doesn't lock onto the target. In conjunction with the controls, this is just a bad combination.

The graphics are meh.

This game has a "first person view" setting which, in theory, sounds different and interesting but, you will have to right click whilst in first-person to actually look around. This makes it pointless to be used in the first place.

Another issue I experienced was during the dialogue scenes where the options to skip through dialogue wasn't displayed properly on my screen despite me being in 1920x1080 resolution. To make things worse, every single time I alt-tabbed, my game would enter a state of "not responding" and would have to be closed via task manager.

I swear that majority of my 40 minutes played was literally recapping the first 1-2 episodes of the actual anime. Nothing but useless dialogue that could have been made much more concise. It's like they were trying to stretch in crap to make the 10 minute mark of a YouTube video.

There is probably more to cover, but I'm really not going to waste my time. I will probably give it another try and progress another hour into the game and edit this review from there if I can be bothered. I don't really leave reviews, but for a game that cost me $134 AUD, I expected wayyy better. Maybe I'll try and make it to the character customisation part l o l.

Overally, probably using a controller would be better lmao.
