I can't believe this game is Free to Play. I'm over 60 hours in and more than half way to the level cap and I haven't been hit with any kind of paywall. Yes, there are a lot of ways this could be improved, but as a PVE looter shooter experience I'm more than pleasantly surprised. The gun play is good, the core loop of explore -> loot -> craft -> explore is good. The building system needs polish, but it works. Well done, Starry Studio!
The weird realism is also fun, lends itself well to strange encounters, odd story moments. I have not yet been hit by a server wipe, which I understand is coming and is seasonal. But I'm not worried about it. Since the core loop is good, I can see myself playing it again from scratch as the season changes.

Having finished Act 1, I'm happy to say that this game sets the bar for single-player RPGs. Well done, Larian!
I expect to put many hours into this game and multiple play-thrus.

Fun, simple port of the arcade cabinet. I don't know the game well enough to make a great review. Seems pretty deep!

ive had a few crashes, but nothing that is messing up saves or progress. If you are a fan of the series, this is a fun version. Its is a little easier, in a good way.

Its rare that I agree with Metacritic reviews and gaming press reviews. At the time of my writing this review, Metacritic has this at an 81/100. Which is close enough for me. The writing is so good, and the situations can be so tense that I've had to sleep on some decisions before I could continue. Very few games or books for that matter elicit that kind of response in me. This game is art.
Yes, it has some game play flaws, but they are minor. Very few bugs, beautiful art, and amazing writing. Would buy again, at twice the price.
