The game is fun, but it's very dead, most of the matches you'll get are either 1v1 or 1v1v1 (if you're lucky).

how 2 play audiosurf 2:

step 1: refund audiosurf 2.
step 2: buy audiosurf 1.
step 3: have fun!

if you can't refund audiosurf 2, then just stick to classic skin and mode of your preference.

In long form: Well..
Part one: Graphics.
It's graphics have not aged a lot, CRANK UP THE GRAPHICS IN LAUNCHER AND YOU GET EXTREME DETAIL MOUNTAINS WITH ANIMATED GRASS!!!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But honestly the graphics are very good for a 2008-ish game. Not much to talk about, so let's move on.
Part two²: Launcher.

Actually Part two: UI.
This UI while driving is simple, but good. There are all the things you need: Speedometer, Medal times, Your time and most importantly the name and the author of the track you're driving on. There's also not much to talk about here so we'll just move on.
Part three: Track Building.
With track building you have two options: Simple and Advanced. Simple, as the name suggests is a simple track editor that allows you to make a layout for a track, it's very barebones allowing you to just use a couple of track pieces and decorations. But with advanced you can make any track you want! Wanna remake Le Mans? Use the Coast enviroment and bam! It's beautiful! Wanna make a GPS to show the player where they are supposed to go? Check! it's pretty much unlimited.
Part 4: Community.
It's pretty chill. ᵇᵘᵗ ᶦⁿ ᵒⁿˡᶦⁿᵉ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ ᵃʳᵉ ᵖʳᵒ ᵖˡᵃʸᵉʳˢ ᵉᵛᵉʳʸʷʰᵉʳᵉ ˢᵒ ᵃᵛᵒᶦᵈ ᶦᵗ. There is a website dedicated to sharing tracks to other people called Trackmania Exchange, where you can play other people's tracks and upload your own!
Final Part: Gameplay.
It's pretty good. There are 7 enviroments, every single one having a different car which all drive differently and have completely different terrain to play on. There are also 4 gamemodes which I will talk about later.
Stadium: It's the iconic Stadium. You drive in F1 Cars which are the only ones you can drive with in ESWC and Nations Forever. Nothing much to talk about.
Island: You drive in some weird Ferrari car that is faster than a bugatti. It tends to be slippery at times, but it's still good.
Desert: You drive in Ford Escorts with no sway bars that is somehow faster than the stadium car but slows down when you get on 2 wheels.
Rally: You drive in a Peugeot looking car which has a good speed and very good grip. So good infact that it starts to drift.
Bay: You drive in a karen van which is somehow faster than an average Forza Horizon 4 car and has some good acceleration.
Coast car: You drive in some Mercedes-Porsche abomination with bad handling, bad speed and kind of good acceleration. (keyword: kind of)
Snow car: You drive in some sort of Suzuki looking car that has very good grip and tokyo drift on ice.
There are also 4 gamemodes which are:
Race: It's simple, you race against 3 cars with their difficulty being medals. Same goes for the next gamemodes. But if you're lucky enough, you will get the author medal saying that "you pro radical dude!"
Platform: You need to get to the finish line with as least resets as possible. It's pretty simple, no need to race against the time, it's relaxing sometimes.
Stunt: You need to do stunts to get as many points as possible in a limited amount of time. If you are not fast enough and the timer goes to 0 you start losing points every millisecond.
Puzzle: You will need to make a path to the finish line and get the checkpoints with limited amount of blocks.
Conclusion:
It's very good. For a game from 2008 it has a lot of content.
10/10 would recommend.
