To begin, I would like to say that the atmosphere, designs, sound, and visuals are fantastic and are the best parts of the game. With that being said...

On singleplayer, with the hardest difficulty, this game is still a joke. Here is what I gathered from about three hours into early game.

The poorly programmed A.I gives you multiple chances to shoot at them for free, the robots can be outsmarted with the slightest bit of cover or interior of any kind, they shoot at walls that are too thick to shoot through and use leap attacks to completely fly past you instead of hitting you. The vehicles are hilariously neglected, so the next best thing for transportation is running around the map without stamina for ten minutes straight, listening to your poor Swedish person gasping for air constantly in your ear. Melee is pathetic and doesn't compensate in any way, so just use the bolt action rifle to take out most basic droids in a single shot to their weak spot, with the occasional use of a shotgun for bullet sponges or droids without weak spots. The game is fun, if you play as passively as possible, hide inside buildings, and dodge any kind of interaction by just running away. Otherwise, have fun taking about 30 damage per bullet. Also, if you die, who cares! You can respawn at any safehouse and get experience points from dying too, so there is ZERO risk to losing a fight, as long as you don't mind walking around the map a bit.

I highly doubt the difficulty or progression will change any of this since the developers are more interested in base building mechanics rather than making smarter robots.
