Having played the original Yar's Revenge back in the 80s, I can say I never thought it would become a game like this. The 2011 rail shooter was more like what I would expect, but this game is no disappointment. It's a "Metroid" style game but with the ability to hack consoles using Atari 2600 style games to do so. Some of these can get frustrating, but you can turn on invincibility for the hacking games if you like, which helps a lot but still keeps things fun. As someone who is a big fan of the original game, as well as the newer ones, this didn't disappoint. Now to wait and see if there will be a sequel.

A really fun and rare FMV shooter that feels like Doom meets Ghostbusters. I missed this one growing up, but I'm really glad it got remastered like this for everyone to play. The story is an interesting one, told through FMV scenes that play in real time in the game's environment. It's a pretty cool effect, especially for the time this game was originally released. If you enjoy classic FPS and FMV games, give this one a try for sure!

It's an accurate representation of point and click adventure games of the late 1980s, particularly Zak McKracken and Maniac Mansion. It has all of the good along with the bad things about those games. There's humor, references to other games and media, traditional verb interface, and classic pixel graphics. There's also a lot of item fetching, backtracking, and moon logic puzzles. Some would call that a plus, and if you're going to recreate the look and feel of the classics, it absolutely is. So if you like all that and want more of it, give this game a try. Looking forward to chapter 2!

If you are a fan of great point-and-click adventure games, you'll greatly enjoy this one. It has great voice acting, fantastic music, a simple interface, and interesting story. No dead ends, no frustration, and no getting lost. Great work by the team at Wadjet Eye.

It's a really nicely made remake that looks and plays great even when not using VR. My only issue is that there is no Rime or content from realMyst that you can do after completing the main game. That would have put it over the top.

The first chapter is the best, but the ones in between aren't bad. Having played all of the King's Quest games before playing this one, I feel like some may be turned off by the story or the graphics. King's Quest is one of those game series that evolved over time, but has shown that you don't need the latest and greatest graphics to tell a good story and have good game play. Then again, the older ones also had many dead ends and required the player to save constantly to avoid losing progress due to a dead end. This one is nice in that it gives you infinite second chances if you screw up. The only time when saving would matter would be when your choice effects certain things later on. If you want to go back and change a choice you made, you have to start the chapter all over.

This game will hit you right in the nostalgia, and may even make you feel a certain way about things. Overall, it was a fun experience, if at times tedious. I would love to see a follow up or even a redux of the entire series, so long as it follows the same "point and click" method and adventure story tones.

A charming love letter to classic FMV games like Gabriel Knight 2. A bit amateurish in execution in some places, but that can be excused. It never bothered me while playing, but it was noticeable. Many interesting locations and beautiful photography. If you enjoy point and click adventure games that don't have crazy moon logic puzzles, then give this game a try. It's free so you have nothing to lose.

It's all the fun of pinball without all of the expensive maintenance! Just be careful or it will eat up all of your free time. My only complaint is that I wish some of the licensed tables had the actual voices of the actors, but I understand that it isn't always possible.

This is a really interesting and unique game. The voice acting is great and fun, even though this version has a few small scenes cut from it. It is short if you know what you are supposed to do, but even if you do, the "drafts" you learn will sometimes be a bit different from a previous playthrough. A built in list would have been nice, but this is one of those games that expects you to have a pen and paper handy. It's a lot of fun, very pretty, and very well done.

I never had played these games before, but I knew of them. The graphics and menus are all very nostalgic feeling, and though I had to consult walkthroughs, they were all very fun to experience and get invested in. It's very interesting to see where these games started, given the recent King's Quest game. It proves you don't need super impressive graphics to tell a good story and have a good game. I highly recommend the collection for anyone interested in classic point-and-click adventure games. Just be aware that they are rarely intuitive and have a walkthrough on hand.
